Hello everyone,
I’m feeling really lost right now and I need some honest advice.
I’m from the Middle East, specifically Iraq, and I’m struggling because I can’t live freely or be who I truly am. As a femboy and a gay person, my situation here is very difficult. The law, society, family, and even the religious system all punish people like me — and sometimes the consequences can be extremely serious, even life-threatening. In some cases, even suspicion alone can put me in danger.
If I stay here, I feel like I’ll never be able to live my life properly or be myself. I won’t have the freedom to express who I am or even live a normal daily life.
So I’ve been thinking about immigration… but that also feels overwhelming.
Where should I go? Which country? Which continent?
What would I do there? Where would I live? How would I survive? I honestly have no clear idea.
Is the US a good option? Or Europe?
Which countries are safer and more affordable, where I can live freely and comfortably?
I even thought about places like Thailand, but I’m not sure.
I know this is a lot, and it’s hard to explain everything, but I would really appreciate any advice — especially from people who come from similar backgrounds or have gone through something like this.

I think generally Muslims and gays are accepted here but the places that are the most expensive
And from what I’ve heard the uk is pretty anti Muslim (you’d have to double check as I have no experience with epurope)
I personally believe that immigrants are one of the things that make America so great but I know not everyone feels that way. Especially with middle easterners
I think( again no experience) that the major Asian countries (china and Japan) are pretty homophobic
I think America is your best bet but that’s coming from a white born-citizen
I know the immigration process is not great from what Mexican friends have told me, but I would try to get a working visa ( work sponsor) for any country you may be thinking of

In my opinion USA wouldnt be a great option, seeing the actual policies on immigrants, knowing they have horrible living conditions (no free healthcare, no free education, bad public transports...) and that their entire money is based on middle east allies theyre loosing little by little everyday
I live in france and i think it is great here... You can be healed, there is a lot of associations helping homeless people or people with little money, and getting the french identity would be possible if you learnt french
Also the muslim community is huge, 10% of the total legal population (for 50% non believers and 40% christians, but those are more in little villages than cities lol)

Trust me, go to europe but not where there’s too much war, if you want somehwere cheap mabye try someplace in Asia, like Vietnam or Thailand
