What does the stare emoji mean?

The ultimate expression of pure, unadulterated indifference.

This emoji, often referred to as the 'normal' face, captures a state of complete emotional neutrality or deadpan resignation. It is a staple in Discord and Slack communities for reacting to absurd, cringe-worthy, or painfully obvious statements where words simply fail to convey the level of 'done' the user feels.

When to use it

  • Reacting to a painfully obvious statement made
  • Expressing total indifference toward a boring topic
  • Showing deadpan humor in a chaotic chat
  • Signaling that you have absolutely no thoughts
