What does the underage emoji mean?

The ultimate warning label for when things get a little too mature for the chat.

This emoji serves as a digital age-gate, commonly used in Discord servers to signal that content is intended for an older audience. It is a staple in communities that discuss mature topics, gaming, or adult-oriented media, acting as a quick, visual shorthand for '18+' or 'not for kids'.

When to use it

  • Marking mature content in a public channel
  • Warning users about explicit discussion topics
  • Filtering out younger members from specific threads
  • Signaling that a link contains adult material
