What does the anime emoji mean?

The ultimate emoji for when you are about to drop some unsolicited knowledge.

This emoji features the classic 'nerd' glasses adjustment trope, often used to signal that someone is being pedantic, correcting others, or acting like a know-it-all. It is a staple in gaming and hobbyist Discord servers for mocking someone who is over-explaining a topic or acting superior with technical details.

When to use it

  • Correcting someone on a minor technical detail
  • Mocking a user for being overly pedantic
  • Flexing superior knowledge in a gaming chat
  • Responding to an unsolicited long-winded explanation
