To the mods, yesterday the same exact type of video was posted and it wasn't removed, and avichaey's videos are allowed here. So there is no reason to remove this one at all like you did with the past 3 I have posted.

The more you live exclusively within your own community, the more you're going to fight over small differences. It’s actually a studied phenomenon called the "narcissism of small differences."
Lebanon has 18 sects in part because identical people couldn't tolerate living together and decided to segregate. For example, Greek Orthodox and Greek Catholics are nearly identical, except for their allegiance to Rome.
Now, let's have Maronites, Sunnis, Shias, etc., live exclusively among their own in an even smaller territory and you’re going to see a mental breakdown worse than the current one.

While delegates from the Shia Conference of El-Hujair were in Damascus swearing allegiance to King Faisal, an act the Maronites of Jabal Amel considered threatening, a Shia gang led by Mahmoud Bazzi, which "proceeded from brigandage to confronting France and its Christian friends in the south",[48] attacked Ain Ebel on 5 May 1920, pillaging and killing more than 50 people.[49][50] It appears that the gangs responded to a call for jihad.[51] The people of Ain Ebel defended the town from sunrise to sunset until they ran out of ammunition.[52]
A contemporary Franciscan document chronicling the event states that attackers abandoned themselves in the violence, massacring children in the arms of their parents before killing them, raping young women and then killing them, and burning people who were still alive.[53] The survivors fled south to Haifa until French ships took them back to Tyre where General Gouraud promised the Maronite Patriarch to punish those who had caused the massacres and destruction.[54] The town was completely destroyed, and the damage done to the two churches, school and convent, were evidence of sectarian malice.[47][55] The neighboring villages of Debel and Rmaich were also attacked so after 12 days of plundering and massacres,[56] the French arrived and suppressed all activities in Jabal Amil region.[57]
While awaiting to return to their village, it was reported that a soldier, in the service of the English, offered the villagers to sell their properties to the Zionists because they were not guaranteed a return to Ain Ebel, but they all refused. This was yet another example of how the Christians of the Tyre district were under a lot of pressure to abandon their land and emigrate out of the area.[58] The massacres hardened Maronite opinion in favor of Jabal Amil being part of Greater Lebanon, which borders were cemented at the San Remo conference in 1920.[48]
By 1921, although the village’s homes and churches had been repaired and rebuilt, the massacre had trigger...

do you people honestly think Israel wouldn’t be taking our land for their own if Hezbollah ceased to exist? I preface this with the fact that there are people whom believe there would be zero Leb-Israeli conflicts if Hezbollah never came to be.

This was back in January, and after that, Hezbollah made the biggest remontada in the history of remontadas, non stop rockets, drones, fighters, fought for weeks in Frontline villages, with what ammo? With what guns? I thought the Lebanese army took them?
Shia high ranking Generals are for sure playing a role here.

Long story short, about that "sex/private room".
Days into the beginning of the last war not this one, Lmadrase lfiya lnez7in 7adna fawalet, ba3d kam yom multiple small fights erupt about privacy, then 1 couple started doing sexual stuff (foreplay and kissing) in the open , so the municipality thats taking care of the school decided to let them have it on the roof in a small room, hence the term. "How does this guy know"; One of my close friends is a chorte baladye. Now what you should ask is, kif lwa7ad bi 3ezz l7arb, like literally at the peak of it, elo nafes 3a hek chi, aw byo2af ma3o, thats the question that i want answered , i was so shocked to even hear that they went into a fight over such a thing. Crazy.

Hi all! This is quite random, but a genuine question.
I went on a date with a Lebanese shia guy yesterday (his family is from the South) and he knew I was Christian, but assumed I was either Catholic or Orthodox. When I said I was neither and that I was Maronite, he seemed genuinely confused and didn't know what Maronite was. I even said it in Arabic and he was even more unsure. He's been to Lebanon on numerous occasions btw, not sure if that's important context.
My question is, are Maronites not spoken of in a lot of Shia households? Is it simply a world of Sunnis and Shias?

Hey r/lebanon,
3 months ago I posted here about Sobhiye, the Lebanon newsletter. Quick update.
Bit of context: it started before the war as just a quick morning read. Five news sites/accounts + the family WhatsApp every morning was getting to be a lot. Then the war happened and the whole thing became something else - a bunch of you told me it was the only news source you weren't dreading at 8am, which honestly meant a lot. And now that things in Lebanon are slowly turning the corner - semi-functioning government, ceasefire holding, reconstruction starting in the south, finally - Sobhiye is shifting with it. More of the wins worth talking about, more reporting that holds people accountable, less doom.
New stuff since:
Still free. Still daily. Still 3 minutes with your coffee.
If you tried it 3 months ago and it was rough, would love a second look. And if anything's annoying, tell me - most of what's good in there exists because people in this sub pushed me on it.
