Insomnia Society: New Reporting Options Available

Join Community

Summary

The Insomnia Society has introduced new, more convenient options for reporting users and messages. Members can now use right-click menus to report directly, or utilize the updated `/report` slash command, which now requires a message link for message reports. These changes aim to streamline the reporting process and provide the moderation team with necessary context more quickly, including mandatory violation categories for slash command reports.

Hey !

Another quick announcement - we now have more ways to be able to report messages and/or users now! You can still use the same old /report command, but now it's managed by @Sapphire, so don't use Carl-bot's version if you can see it. As a result, you can now report users by right-clicking on their profile > Apps > Report user and report messages by right-clicking the message > Apps > Report message! These will automatically be reported to the moderation team.

Also, if you use the /report command via slash commands, please be sure to keep a new set of things in mind, in addition to the things above:

  • If you want to report a message via the slash command, you need to grab the message link by right-clicking the offending message > Copy Message Link. It's weird, I know, but that's the way it currently works. On the bright side, that means you can report the initial offending message and the mods can respond faster because we don't have to go looking for context.
  • We have reasons you can select now! You MUST put in a reason, but the good thing is that we now have a bunch of rule violation categories you can select now to make things easier.
