TL;DR of what happened:
On Feb 27, the Monetag ad integration added sw.js — a service worker that imports a third-party script from 3nbf4.com. Once installed in users' browsers, it intercepts all network requests (including S3 thumbnail/asset fetches). S3 rejects these proxied/modified requests with 403.
On Feb 28, the file was deleted — but deleting the file from the server doesn't unregister it from browsers. The cached Monetag service worker kept running and breaking things.
