UntamedWilds Map Update: New PvP and Role Zones
Join CommunitySummary
The UntamedWilds community is introducing a new map system for Gondwa, utilizing color-coded zones to clearly designate PvP areas, role-based nesting/growth zones, and neutral spaces. This change aims to make the map easier to navigate, provide safer areas for new players, and give trusted members defined responsibilities. The system is community-guided but subject to staff oversight and will begin with Grand Plains designated as the first official PvP Zone.
This is just an example. Each role has a purpose. We’re rolling out a new community map system designed to make Gondwa easier to understand, more organized, and more fun for both new and veteran players.
🔴 PvP Zones
Certain areas of the map will be clearly designated as PvP-focused locations.
Example:
Grand Plains is now designated as a PvP Zone.
Players entering this area should expect open conflict and PvP-focused gameplay.
🟢 Role-Based Zones (Nesting, Growth, Community)
Members who earn or are approved for specific roles (such as Nester) will be able to:
- Choose a location on the map
- Designate it as an official nesting or growth area
- Help coordinate safe spaces for new players and growing dinos
Once selected, these areas will be:
- Highlighted on the shared Gondwa map
- Posted in a dedicated map/info channel
- Clearly labeled so players know the purpose of the zone
🎨 Visual Map Legend
All zones will follow a simple color-coded system:
- 🔴 Red – PvP Zone
- 🟢 Green – Nesting / Growth Zone
- 🔵 Blue – Neutral / Open Play
- 🟡 Yellow – Events / Temporary Zones
This keeps things clear at a glance and helps prevent confusion or accidental conflicts.
⚖️ Important Notes
- Zones are community-guided, not permanent ownership
- Zones do not override server rules
- Staff always has final say
- Abuse of a role or zone may result in the role being removed
Zones may rotate, change, or be removed as the server evolves.
🎯 Why We’re Doing This
- Encourages long-term goals and role progression
- Helps new players feel safer and more welcome
- Gives trusted members real responsibility
- Makes the map feel alive and intentional
We’ll continue expanding this system over time, starting with Grand Plains as our first official PvP zone.
