For years, Hezbollah has acted like a state above the state, assassinating presidents, prime ministers, ministers, journalists, and civilians, while keeping an armed militia outside the control of the Lebanese government. Calling themselves “the resistance” doesn’t erase the damage they’ve done to Lebanon. Wanting the Lebanese state to have full authority and no outlaw militias shouldn’t be controversial; that’s basic sovereignty.
And historically, Lebanon has paid a huge price for other people’s wars. The PLO’s presence and the civil war era devastated the country, and many Lebanese still carry anger over the violence and the years of instability and occupation. Lebanon was also heavily affected by Syrian control for decades. These are painful parts of Lebanese history that people shouldn’t ignore.
What frustrates many Lebanese is the double standard: countries and groups across the region, including Jordan, Egypt, the UAE, Syria at different times, Iran through indirect channels, and Palestinian leadership figures like those involved in the Oslo Accords, have all had direct or indirect dealings with Israel when it suited their interests. Yet when Lebanon discusses its own national interests or possible diplomacy, it’s immediately treated by some as betrayal or “haram.” People are tired of Lebanon constantly being the battlefield for regional agendas while others make pragmatic decisions for themselves

Found this in Crete, Greece. I thought that Israelis claiming that some Lebanese / other levant food is theirs was a joke and just ragebaiting us, but do people actually believe this shit? I found this surprising especially because I see "free palestine" graffiti every few meters here.

I am in my 30s now and i never ever visited tripoli
I am planning to visit it this month but im still a little hesitant due to all the rumors i hear from some people
Is it okay for a guy, with tattoos and piercings to visit there safely?
I want to visit historical sites, the souk, hammam al abed, 5an al saboun, ma3rad rachid karami, etc...
Will i be judged, frowned upon, and get weird looks?
Unfortunately, i once visited the old souk in Saida and i got very weird frowning looks, which led me never to go there again.
I guess it was due to the fact that i have multiple visible tattoos, 1 piercing, and i was wearing a cross
No offence to anyone, but i would like to know if this would be a problem if i visit
Thanks

The Israeli military has destroyed a solar-powered water pumping station in Deir Mimas town this morning.
This village is 99% christians, the rest are Syrians workers. Not only it has zero Hizb presence but also do not allow Shia from owning or building properties there. Many of them are pro LF.

Anyone knows if the René Mouawad Airport is near operational status like Salam said last year?
He said that it would take a year, any news on it?

I’ve honestly reached a point where I’m starting to feel a bit desperate about it. All of my friends are from different sects, so they can’t really introduce me to someone from my own community, and even my family doesn’t really know anyone suitable to introduce me to
I tried dating apps like Muzz (Muslim dating app), but the experience has been awful for me. I’m looking for someone educated, ambitious, and with some direction in life
Random Facebook adds/messages also feel awkward and usually go nowhere since no one replies.
And before anyone says “join hiking groups” or similar activities, most people there already come in friend groups, and approaching someone in that setting feels awkward

I’m honestly a bit lost and dont want to leave it till the last minute
For those who watched the last World Cup from Lebanon, what did you use? Mainly looking for something that doesnt cut every two minutes and doesnt cost a ridiculous amount

To the mods, yesterday the same exact type of video was posted and it wasn't removed, and avichaey's videos are allowed here. So there is no reason to remove this one at all like you did with the past 3 I have posted.

I do not support any political party, but genuinely asking. If there was no Hezb do you think israel would leave us alone?

The more you live exclusively within your own community, the more you're going to fight over small differences. It’s actually a studied phenomenon called the "narcissism of small differences."
Lebanon has 18 sects in part because identical people couldn't tolerate living together and decided to segregate. For example, Greek Orthodox and Greek Catholics are nearly identical, except for their allegiance to Rome.
Now, let's have Maronites, Sunnis, Shias, etc., live exclusively among their own in an even smaller territory and you’re going to see a mental breakdown worse than the current one.
