What and Why HSK？关于HSK汉语水平考试证书

Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK, or 汉语水平考试) came about in 1992 as a proficiency exam for Mandarin Chinese.

By 2021, there has been over 5.6 million HSK tests taken, the new HSK test that will be released in 2022, HSK 3.0, consists of nine levels from one (the easiest) through nine (the most difficult).
The old HSK test only contained levels one through six.

Foreigners usually take the test for three purposes:

to comply with the requirements for admission to a Chinese university;
to obtain a proficiency certificate for employment or career advancement and;
to simply test their level of Chinese proficiency.

HSK证书对外籍人士的优先权：

留学中国的通行证。中国教育部规定，国外留学生注册进入中国大学，需达到HSK4或以上；
申请大学奖学金和夏令营。奖学金额高、类别多，对于外籍学生来说是非常大的吸引力；
职场竞争利器。各国家政府部门、跨国企业，HSK作为招聘提薪和晋升的重要依据和标准；
拥有孔子新汉学中外合作项目的优先权；
了解自己汉语水平，为水平提高和汉语老师教学提供了重要参考价值。

HSK 3.0 has three stages and nine levels with:
HSK 3.0有三个阶段和九个级别：

Beginner at Level 1-3 初级
Intermediate at Level 4-6 中级
Advanced at Level 7-9 高级

The New HSK consists of these four elements:
新HSK由以下四个元素组成：

Syllables – 1,110 in total 音节
Chinese characters – 3,000 in total 中文汉字
Vocabulary – Total is 11,092 词汇量
Grammar – Total of 572 items 语法

This exam is in the form of five parts
此考试分为五个部分：

Listening 听
Speaking 说
Reading 读
Writing 写
Translation 翻译
