Lovable Apps Now Work Inside Claude & ChatGPT

Summary

Lovable announces that apps can now run inside Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI assistants using auto-generated MCP servers. The post explains workflows, expert methods, digital brain and data integrations and notes that Lovable generates, hosts, and maintains the MCP server so builders avoid manual deployment.

Your Lovable app can now work inside Claude and ChatGPT

Your Lovable app can now work inside Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI assistants. Ask Lovable to add an MCP server to a public app, and AI assistants can work with it directly.

More of your users' work is happening inside AI assistants — it's becoming a real channel for how people find and use software, and a lot of Lovable builders want to be at the front of that shift. Until now, getting an app to work there meant building and maintaining an MCP server by hand. That's the hard part we've removed.

What you can build

  • Workflows — your app runs a process an assistant can trigger, like an expense-approval hub or an order-tracking console. File, track, and move work forward without opening the tool.
  • Expert methods — your app applies a repeatable method to an input, like a synthetic buyer panel, a quoting engine, or a growth-method advisor. Your method gets used mid-decision, not just read.
  • Digital brain — your app is a body of knowledge an assistant can reason over, like an internal knowledge base or a customer-insights navigator. Exact answers, delivered where the question came up.
  • Data — your app holds records an assistant can query, like a pipeline dashboard by deal stage or a plan-comparison tool. Your data answers questions at whatever scale they're asked.

How it works

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard AI assistants use to work with software. An MCP server describes your app to an assistant as a set of tools — specific actions like querying records or running a workflow. Connect your app to ChatGPT or Claude, and their assistant sees those tools and works with your live app through them.

Lovable does the hard part. It reads your published app and generates the server — the tools and the auth. You review and refine everything, the tools and who can use them, before you publish. Lovable hosts and maintains the server for you (nothing to run or deploy) and keeps it current as the MCP standard evolves. Update your app, and the integration updates with it. Lovable builds the server OAuth-protected unless you explicitly choose to make it public, your app's sign-in and row-level rules apply to AI assistants the same way they apply in the app, and every app MCP is security-checked at publish. Want to gate access? Put it behind OAuth or a paid plan.

Build one — and show us

  1. Pick a public Lovable app you've already published.
  2. Ask Lovable to add an MCP server, then review the generated tools before you publish.
  3. Connect it to ChatGPT or Claude and put it to work on something real.

Then post what you built and tell us how it went — what worked, what didn't, and what you'd want next. Read the docs to get started.
