Artemis II is NASA's first crewed mission in the Artemis program, sending four astronauts on a 10-day lunar flyby in early 2026 to test the Orion spacecraft and Space Launch System rocket in deep space.

The mission will not land on the Moon but will loop around it, taking the crew farther from Earth than any humans have traveled in over 50 years, to verify life support, navigation, and other critical systems before the Artemis III landing mission.
