In a dark sky location, you can see around 2,500 to 3,000 stars at once with the naked eye, compared to only a few dozen in a city. The Milky Way appears as a distinct, hazy, luminous band stretching across the horizon.

Beyond countless stars, observers can see planets, constellations, the Andromeda Galaxy, the Orion Nebula, and even phenomena like zodiacal light and airglow.
