Wisterwild Redstone Lag Limiter Explained

🌙 Good evening, Wisterwildlings!

I wanted to take a moment to clarify something that’s come up a few times lately regarding redstone and certain farms not working as expected.

Our server has a built-in lag limiter that keeps an eye on overall performance (TPS — ticks per second). When the TPS drops too low, it automatically scales back certain mechanics — things like redstone activity, mob spawning, and mob AI — to help the world stabilize and prevent crashes.

If your redstone farm suddenly stops functioning or you can’t place redstone components, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s broken. In many cases, it’s the lag limiter stepping in. However, if the build itself is generating heavy lag — for example, large machines, heavy redstone components condensed in a small space, or constantly running redstone systems — the limiter may intentionally prevent the farm from running altogether to protect the server.

In short:
✨ If it’s a brief hiccup, it’ll usually return to normal once the TPS recovers.
⚙️ If it’s a consistently lag-heavy setup, it may stay disabled until adjusted or scaled down.

Thanks everyone!
