## Another month, another (joke) update... Most notably, colour picker! I mean, color picker! We can never decide on what spelling of color/colour, so we'll have to write color/colour picker everywhere. Unfortunately this will mean that we run out of room in the channel sidebar, so it will have to say colour/color. The https://discord.com/channels/1292450991014281267/1351096131148582955 discussion has restarted, which shows just how much time can slow down when life is going fast. The hello and welcome channels were combined, which allows us to make newcomers feel at home by halving their space. A #🗳️│survey has been introduced, which allows us to follow internet traffic wherever it goes. ## Two non-joke side notes. The survey is actually useful because it helps us understand how and from where people join our server, which helps us grow more efficiently. **I have introduced a new <@&1400722465164103762>, which is kind of a middleground between announcements and everyone pings, for semi-important stuff. ||A rare @everyone ping|| ### I have 4 important things to talk about, please read them all. # 1. The New Levelling System The moment we've all been waiting for! ### Changes: - All levelling progress has been reset, although also saved. - XP has been scaled down by a factor of 10. - We are now using [DISCORD_USERNAME] for our levelling system. ### Overview: - Randomly earn 10-20 XP per message. - Cooldown has been reduced to encourage conversation. - Certain channels have XP bonuses. - Mods can award XP at their discretion for things which support the server. - Streaks can earn additional XP by being continuously active. - Everyone decays by 10 XP every day. - XP drops will randomly take place, awarding variable amounts of XP. (currently set to 1 for testing) ### Happy levelling! Don't forget that we have other rewards systems like `/quests` which can win cool prizes! (There are certain things which still need cleaning up but functionally, it works.) # 2. My Absence I will be away from 14th to 20th July. All enquiries should be redirected to [DISCORD_USERNAME], [DISCORD_USERNAME] or [DISCORD_USERNAME], or wait for my return. New Ping Roles We've added several more ping roles recently so you never miss anything, please review them in <id:customize>. # 4. Changes In Guild Management We're looking into redoing the way we run the guild to be more efficient and reliable. (Think back to all the GM bans.) This will nearly certainly mean that the guild will be reduced to just <@&1350929996755239033> and <@&1353830800801398935>, since 6 sub-guilds is overkill.
