My first MLP oc, Soleil Firestorm, known to most as the Raging Sun Phoenix. She's the daughter of princess Celestia, yet didn't inherit her alicorn magic naturally, but her magic seems to inhabit her wings instead. Soleil was often praised and respected among other ponies for being the daughter of Celestia, but Soleil found this much more insulting than anything and didn't like this sense of royalty at all, unlike her cousin Dorrie who looks at it with much honor. Eventually she had her desire to be free and fled the castle and Canterlot and found a home in ponyville, yet had many problems before she finally was able to make a home and some friends there

Personality

Soleil has tremendously short temper and can be very rebellious, wild, reckless, and fierce. Some even say she roars like a tiger! She has a true spirit of fire as she doesn't let anyone control or determine what she does except her own free will. It's like she has the heart (or will) of fire. She likes to be free and do as she pleases most of the time and goes by her own rules. Just like physical fire, she acts of her own accord. It will take a significant amount of effort and reasoning to get Soleil to comply with the demands of another and obey their rules. Her actions with her ways of thinking can still have drawbacks for herself and others. For example there will be instances where some just try to give her pure advice, but her wildness and pride has her go her own way. Sol sometimes can do this a bit too often, and because most other ponies try not to question her sense of morality, Sol can end up on her own. This leads to her loneliness which lasts quite some time until her flames go out for a while and she becomes a bit more calm.

Sol does have a softer side though and is often much more affectionate and compassionate in certain instances when she gets emotional. Many think of her like a wild beast or like when you’d mess with a tiger, but really she’s just a pony who often can get quite emotional and it is hard to hide that. You'll see this side of her when her fire begins to go down from her wings and turn a more purple-blue color. Often Soleil wouldn’t want to talk about her emotions, but it’s impossible to hide them as they are physically represented.

Relationships

Soleil often doesn't get along well with other ponies. This is because of her fierce personality, certain rivalries, or physical fire which can become destructive. Soleil's way of thinking and her personal ranking made her try to hide somethings of her past. Few know that Soleil is the daughter of princess Celestia and is an heir to control the cycle of the sun outside of Canterlot. However Sol doesn't want to be royalty or be known as royalty as she thinks of how most communities respect people on top like a hierarchy and not for who they truly are. She barely even respects her mother because of everyone bowing down to her instead of looking at her "eye-to-eye" and talking as equals. Another example of this is Sol's relationship with Dorrie Moondrop, her younger cousin. Dorrie often looked up to Sol and Celestia not just because they're family, but because of royal honor which Soleil eventually got annoyed by. During the childhood of the two, they got along and played together a lot, both in the castle and around town, but overtime as most people started treating Sol differently, she began to have a different attitude to this. Dorrie on the other hand didn't think much of this hierarchy and thought of it as a job the two have to do in the future, their "destiny". Soleil eventually wanted to leave and live her own life and asked Dorrie to come with her, yet she refused while talking more about destiny and called Soleil the future queen. Soleil was silent till she stormed off and could barely look at her cousin in the eye anymore.

In the case of most other ponies after she left Canterlot, there's often one problem after another. For Rarity, they don't often go well because of Rarity looking at slight detail and has tried doing Sol a make over and has questioned her Phoenix like wings and sense of fashion, which Sol took a bit offensively and got quite irritated. Out of advice from others in this case, most have said to just accept the gift since it’s out of generosity, not criticism. For Rainbow dash, they have that basic "who's faster?" competition, but at the same time, Soleil's fire naturally causes thunderstorms to eventually develop as the temperature in the atmosphere rises. This natural phenomenon eventually got Sol banned from most areas of Cloudsdale as her flames would eventually bring natural disaster and chaos in the clouds, most commonly in forms of a Cumulonimbus. In addition, in one instance where a hurricane was required for Cloudsdale again from Ponyville and Sol participated, the constant flame from her wings caused the hurricane to begin taking her fire with it, which evaporated the water, caused many pegasi to get severe burns, and most surrounding land to have a wildfire. Most only looked up at Firestorm with a look of regret as they didn't believe she was capable for this task after the destruction that was caused. Firestorm soon fled as her flames turned purple and she began to cry with immense guilt for hurting everyone around and causing more damage to her surroundings, there wasn’t much of her to say to herself or others because of the natural chaos of the fire from the phoenix.

For Applejack, Soleil nearly caused a forest fire near her family farm as she couldn't control her anger during an argument with Moondrop nearby which caused a literal flame burst explosion. Some debate if she's chaotic or will eventually burn down the entire town until she can control her anger. Most of the Apple family question her because of natural damages.

For Fluttershy, the two often get along which Sol finds a little bit strange ironically due to them being pretty different in a lot of ways. Fluttershy is just more empathetic compared to most others and Sol becomes more calm because of this so no damage is likely to occur from her flames as they take their “purple flare” state when the two fly together.

Pinkie Pie is near if not unbearable to Sol, she can just get very annoying to her and is almost entirely unavoidable. As much as she means well and just wants to make Sol have a better mood, forcing emotion is not something recommended. As much as Sol told her to leave her alone, it was almost impossible, and Sol had to hide out at Twilights for the night and keep most windows shut and prevent flight so light wouldn’t signify her presence.

Lastly is of Twilight, ironically Sol often gets along well with Spike and Twilight Sparkle as they give her advice and she's often calmer around them. However this was before Twilight found out about her royalty and in certain cases would begin to treat Sol like a higher-up because of how Celestia is treated by most and how Celestia is Twilight's teacher. Sol always despised this sudden attitude from a friend as many would see the anger in her eyes. Sol doesn’t have anything against Twilight personally for this, but against certain things of general society that bring this upon her in many situations. Twilight even would sometimes try to invite or try to get Soleil to go to certain royal events, which she would always refuse. Sol did not know that other friends were invited, but often would fear the results of appearing at these events as Sol would likely be recognized by guards or certain others from the castle and capital. A main example of this is the Grand Galloping Gala and most trips to Canterlot which Sol would often avoid as she wants to remain as far as possible from the castle.

Abilities

Soleil's abilities are generally forms of fire control. She can breathe fire like a dragon, but stronger, especially compared to Spike. When she flies, she looks like a shooting star or a comet because of the blaze surrounding her. Her wings also burn like a Phoenix and will take a little time to go out after she lands. While this fire does not ignite immediately and she can fly casually without it, her fire is linked to her emotion and in flight causes her to go faster. This flame can also activate because of her emotion whether she knows it's present or not. There could be a campfire near and it may suddenly amplify if something serious goes on, they can even take different colors in these cases. When Soleil tries to bottle up her emotions instead of trying to talk about things, it'll physically begin to make her body temperature rise to the measure where burn marks or ash will be left on the ground and eventually she will get sick with a fever for some time and sometimes can faint from the body temperature. Lastly her fire can go down with her Emotions as well. First the fire will begin to turn a purple color more representing her "inner self" as her flames connect to her heart.

However her flames can be fully put out with water which is highly not recommended as Sol will definitely result in a cold afterwards. First she'll suffer fatigue and won't be able to fly for a while, then she'll fully become unconscious and Sol will need to be taken to a medic if this water was constant. While she won’t suffer fatal damage from water putting out current flames, it will have its effects on her body. If no flames are present on her in the moment of water or if her flames evaporate the water, then she won’t suffer any damage. This has happened most commonly with Dorrie as she'd tried to grab a hold of Sol with her water, often when she'd try sneaking away from things. Soleil can also control these flames to have physical forces as well, for instance, she's able to stretch out the flames to grab a hold of objects and when her flames are purple (when she’s more calm) no physical damage will be done to whatever she comes in contact with.
