This conversation highlights the importance of cultural roots within our diverse social space.
Like with each passing generations, one in a few people don't know how to speak or hear their own native dialect.
Death of one's language is one of the worst thing that can happen to their culture
Yeah. It's so sad as it happens alot
learning new language isnt a bad thing..but forgetting ur own mother tongue will eventually be the reason of death of that culture
We have lose some traditions too
yeaa
Well, English is being used alot even by the parents so they also can't pass it down
Like me for example. I can speak Nd hear my native dialect
But I don't know if I will be able to pass it down
Probably leave my kids at my mom's place in a while so they would learn
yea tho english is really imprtant to learn nowadays but its parents responsibity to ensure their children can speak and write their language...
No but it's inevitable
For some at least
Unless ppl try and preserve it
i think it moslty happen when a generation think that the other language is superior to theirs..so they dont try to learn it
They do teach teach it in schools though. But still not as good as when you hear bf speak it at home
yess
Exactly, also debating if smth can even be considered a language and looking down on their own native tongue
yeaa
It's kinda of a simple trade
Diversity for unity
Like for my country. We have over 250+ languages
Could be connected to an inferiority complex too
And two common ones
exactly its the main factor
Not really, I only see it as a means to be able to communicate with other people who speak a different language
i mean thats u but most people would see it as a waste of time
Why would never one think of their own language as less
Could be but many ppl even just straight out state it and have an inferiority complex
especially if u live in a multicultural country
people do think that
That's sad
They often do, also might not even consider it as an actual language
sometimes its external factors too
Yh in those types, usually just the main national language prevails over all the native ones
like govt of a country trying to force a language on its citizens
Yh that was actually done to Bangladesh before it gained independence, it's war was largely based on language
Oh. I haven't met someone like that though
I've seen it too often, some ppl have said it to my face what they think of their own
yess exactly..pakistan tried to force URDU on them even though they have no relation to urdu..BANGLA is their native language
and lead to creation of bangladesh
Yep, besides they were too far away so it wouldn't have worked anyways
And you couldn't try to convince them otherwise?
yea and most of the leadership belonged from west pakistan..thats why they didnt care bout development of bangladesh much
I did read into it, technically urdu can't be connected to any one group since they all have their own indigenous languages
Literature of that language plays a really important think in that..
It's hard to change the minds of those with mentality they kept over decades
Oh
It depends
The population of people speaking the language is large
well it was doomed to fail from the start, not to mention the military having repeated coups there
I don't think they would see it as inferior
hmm, not always the case
yea urdu was created as muslims of that time wanted to related to middle east...urdu's script is also like persian if am not wrong
I see
and pakistan's native language are Punjabi, sindhi, Balochi and many others
Besides language, have we lost other cultural things?
I don't think it was to be related to west asia, it was created and evolved over centuries and came from Hindustani
depends on different culture
yep, tbh the whole language situation there is pretty interesting
maybe but its script is relate with persian
and they forced urdu on the whole country and other languages were seen as inferior
possibly, can't think of what exactly tho
I see
I think it's a mix of persian, turkic (central asia), arabic and hindi/ sanskrit
Fashion

Entertainment
yea
Religion
yep, some smaller regions even struggle to get their own languages recognised
yep
yeaa def all of these are affected a lot
in most countries people wear western clothes on regular days
like tshirt and jeans etc.
Yeah
Nd exposes alot
i mean this was always a con of globalisation
Although things on stuffs like sezuality are still not allowed here though
i mean maybe but some cultures clothing is even more revealing..so it may depend
My complain is that why are we are ones getting absorbed. And theirs becomes the normal
Yope. That is true
colonisation ig
It still has it effects right?
It's still working in a way if you ask me
ahh but big brands inspire(steal) clothing design from other cultures and sell it with big prices in west
so its def not bout western clothes being better
colonisation is the only thing that comes to mind
Hmm
and fact that british first built industries and mass produced clothes and they were a lot cheaper
so that must have affected too
100%%
Yeah.
Global influence is still a thing
And most people don't even like where they came from
Like it to some people they would be flying off their country
But if we all go into another man's land
and now those big brands shoved all their factories to other countries
Who would better our nation
thats more of a individual prefrence imo..like in some countries are way too conservative so they like to be in a more open country
I think some do still hold onto their own native clothing but yh that is slowly becoming a bigger thing
i think it happens in a country with a lot of corruption
new genration believes they can have a much better future elsewhere
Corruption exist in alot of nations in the world
yeaa
I guess so.
more so in underdeveloped nations
yea nowadays cuz of social media fashion trends are almost same everwhere
It does in developed countries too. Just smarter Nd better
Since it looks okay you just can't tell
yess the level of corruption is unimaginable for someone who hasnt lived there
And dollar has become one of the standards in which all currencies bends to
True tho sometimes the corruption in underdeveloped nations is done by some in developed ones pulling the strings
thats the softpower that usa created over the years after ww2
but now its declining
yhh, I think it does have connections with ppl trying to erase and leave their roots of culture, lnaguage etc
Exactly. It's a complicated thing
it's more so it's just rly common so others can't understand how the ppl in power can get away with it and showing off ig
They don't do it on purpose though. It's an unconscious lose
Declining. How so?
It was supposed to be gold but they forced it to change
exactly even if they are caught nobody can do anything
cuz even the courts are corrupted
lot of reason as usa is putting sanctions on a lot of countries..so now countries have started finding alternatives and are trying to trade in other currencies rather than just usd
yh some don't do it on purpose, others have been pushed to not like where they came from (they move out for various reasons tho)
Yeah. That cause alot of changes in the supply Nd demand market
yess
but the inronic part is that..usa and other european nations were buying the same iranian and russian oil but just through india and pakistan as middle countries
we are getting wiser. Although I can't say it's so for my nation lol
sometimes they can't, sometimes they aren't bothered and just deal with it
where are u from??
education is extremly important in that case
Yeah. Like preference of imported goods over home made
exactly
6th most populated nation in the world
nigeria?
I've heard a lot abt how India has done large trades with sanctioned Russian oil
Education is important.but and educated person with power would still choose not to do anything about it if they want
yh that's one thing
Giant of Africa
Also education is slowly losing it's value
In some places
I believe some do try to but it can't work individually, it must be a group effort
yeaa...people say this country has a lot of potential tbh
maybe cos the quality is going down
yeaa
Very hard to achieve that
For real. Each passing set has a decline in knowledge
They keep getting dumber
very hard but not impossible
yh lol
my country is questionable adaptive
If the price of things should go up
It becomes normal
makes me think of that potential meme
I guess so
Yes
how's that a good thing??
My parent immigrated from Mexico and leaned super hard into American culture and speaking only English
Now the dynamic has totally flipped and you’re a fuckin lame if youre hispanic and can’t speak Spanish
Cuz
If people say bad words and u forgot it
Then ur saved fr
bruhh..how is this related to this post😭
It does trust
okay✌️
