oh interesting, wait, wait, i didnt even though there is such a thing i will look into it,

so i have a bit more background about this one,
first, we have to some of our backend infra to listen to media channel since its a really new thing,
second, it's not likely that we can offer this feature for free, the reason is that Discord expires their images link every 24 hours, and we need to update this link with discord api, given the scale, we cant update link for all the contents, so we are gonna make this a premium feature to honestly reduce the workload
third, on the flip side, we will do a lot more SEO around images so that it shows up on google.

and lastly, i'd like to hear your personal thought on whehter this is something you'd pay for and what would you think is a fair price, its good market research for us.

On whether I do personally pay for it and what feels fair, Honestly, its tough for me right now because I dont earn anything back from Discord communities (I’m just managing/participating as a regular user). So adding another subscription is hard to swing. From a broader market perspective, lets compare CommunityOne to the big Discord bots. Most premium plans on top ones like Dyno or YAGPDB cap out around $10–12/month for full access, while CommunityOne each features seem to sit at $14. That gap might make folks pause.

My suggestion (from both a technical and community angle) would be to keep the discussion forums and media publishing free at least at launch and maybe add light non intrusive ads between posts for non premium profiles. The big reason is that hardly anyone knows how Discord’s media/forum channels even work yet. To get real traction and give poets, artists, photographers, editors, content creators, and hobbyists a fighting chance (especially when art/photography content gets buried in NSFW-heavy servers) we need maximum reach and visibility. Free & strong SEO promotion could drive way more adoption and value for everyone.

By the way i had some other questions

1. If a forum post got deactivated due to inactivity and then someone comments and reactivates it, will it automatically get published on the site again?
2. How can a member deny or revoke permission to publish their content if they change their mind later
3. Will you ask for consent every single time a new post/image is created, or is it a one-time permission per user/server

huh, so we wanna do this only for high quality projects and communities and we need a way to do this safely.

One way that we are thinking is to only provide this update for the servers that have other social media platforms and get to a reasonable size, like 500 followers or something, i jsut want some safe indicator that this server is being properly moderatated so that we dont accidentially show nsfw images without marking it properly

We have active profiles on Facebook, Instagram, Medium, Twitter, BMC, and other platforms. despite managing them well, we are still struggling to drive traffic to our main discord landing page which is why we are using CommunityOne as a support platform to help with that

How can we be expected to have a large following across all these platforms?

As an honestly grown community built on 100% organic methods it took us 3 years of hard work to reach 1K+ followers. Building a quality following on other platforms takes time too.

What about using an application based process to access this feature, combined with an AI powered search method to verify a community's online presence through web searches? Web searches would naturally surface the social platforms associated with the community and if the results dont match the actual community the application could simply be rejected
