Quests Not Posting to Channel? Quick Fix

Join Community

Summary

In CommunityOne Builders Help this announcement explains why custom quests may not post to a specified channel. Custom quests shown with /quests are delivered as ephemeral messages visible only to the user who ran the command, so you cannot force them to appear publicly in a chosen channel. It also notes that the leaderboard location is set in the configuration dashboard, which is important for server organization and expectations.

OK so we are having this issue after setting the bot up in another server. I create a custom quest but it doesn't push through to the allocated channel which has been set up and confirmed as ready. However, if a member checks the /quests command they can see the new quest in the list of buttons available. Why is this not showing in the specified channel guys, any idea?

so the way hype engine works is that when the user runs /quest, they will see their own custom quests in a ephemeral message format (this means that other users will not be able to see it). They will see their custom quests in whatever channels that they run /quests in. You can't specify where users see their quests.

However, you can setup where the leaderboard will be under the "leaderboard" tab in your configuration dashboard
