This could be viewed as the perennial quest of spiritual traditions encompassing eastern, western, and indigenous. The intuition that there are fundamentally, an inner and outer mode of attention and that to find some sort of harmony, or creative tension between them is the ideal state of being.
This discord server is predicated mainly on the philosophy of Iain McGilchrist and Simone Weil, whose emphasis on attention and of modes of attention being our fundamental moral imperative, and this also functions as the serverโs โNorth Starโ or โgalactic centerโ around which all the activity within it ultimately revolves around. To attend to something is a moral act, and the way in which we attend changes not only what it is that we see, but what it is that we can be in the world.
Spiritual, philosophical, esoteric, scientific and cultural interests all could be converged in the unifying aspect of attention. The cultivating of, and expansion both in depth and width.
The goal of this server is to create maps that are useful in the pursuit of expanding the overall bandwidth of attention both in terms of internally oriented and externally oriented focus. This could include but is not limited to matters relating to meditation, invasive or non invasive brain stimulation, psychedelic use (with the caveat of abstaining from abuse) and various philosophical, spiritual, Psychological, diet/exercise, supplementation related, practical as relating to daily living, and all manner of discussion relating to the exploration of different frames of mind and domains of life.
