We're keeping things up-to-date and secure - we released vlayer 1.5.0, which introduces breaking changes compared to 1.4.x.
This update includes a major upgrade to the underlying risc0 dependency.
Older versions are no longer compatible with the current vlayer Prover Server.

🔧 What Changed?

• risc0 has been upgraded to 3.0.3.

• This update breaks compatibility with vlayer 1.4.x and earlier.

• What You Need To Do

Please upgrade vlayer to version 1.5.0 as soon as possible to ensure continued access to the vlayer Prover Server.

To upgrade, open the terminal and run the following in the root directory of your project:

vlayer update

⚠️ The vlayer Prover Servers 1.4.x will be turned off on Friday, September 26th, 2025. After this date, only vlayer 1.5.0 and above will be supported.

The vlayer 1.3.0 Prover Server has now been turned off. This follows a critical security vulnerability discovered in Risc0 (see the official announcement: https://x.com/RiscZero/status/1952503598056882225).

🔧 What Changed?

• Risc0 has been upgraded from 2.1 to 2.3 to address the security issue.

• vlayer 1.4.0 now runs on the patched Risc0 2.3, ensuring your proofs remain secure and reliable.

• What You Need To Do

Please migrate to vlayer 1.4.0 as soon as possible and discontinue using any earlier versions.

In response to the RISC Zero Security Disclosure https://x.com/RiscZero/status/1935404812146725042, we upgraded affected dependencies, released vlayer v1.2.0 and recreated our block indexers.

🫵 How it can affect you?
- When using the time-travel and teleport features, you might run into errors like Chain is too far behind. Give our block indexers a while to catch up ⌛.
- To keep things up-to-date, upgrade vlayer by typing vlayer update in the terminal.

We’ve released SDK v1.1.0 which includes a critical upgrade to the underlying TLSNotary (TLSN) library. This upgrade introduces breaking changes compared to v1.0.3, meaning older versions are no longer compatible with current vlayer extension.

🔧 What Changed?
- TLSN has been updated to Alpha 11, which improves security, reliability, and performance.
- This change affects how proofs are generated and verified, and may break integrations built on v1.0.3.
