{> [ Above the clouds, Eclipse’s shuttle would slowly hover across Wave-Ocean. The Darkling had recently managed to collect one of the chaos emeralds after a fierce battle against two metal units. Most if not all of his wounds had been healed by now thanks to the source of chaos energy and his quick regeneration compared to other organisms. ]

"Doom worked so hard to gather all seven; It’s my destiny to do the same!"

[ A devilish grin spread across Eclipse’s face at the prospect of all seven chaos emeralds in his possession. That grin only faded when he sense the presence of . . . another Black Arms member. ]

[ Eclipse couldn’t instantly enter this one’s mind, they weren’t completely connected to the hive-mind . . . They were far more intelligent compared to his other brethren. ]

• • It couldn’t be HIM . . .

{[ The shuttle would land on the massive archipelago a considerable distance from wherever The Ultimate Lifeform was, Eclipse would step out and mutter to himself. ]

"It can’t possibly be him- not this soon . . . Shadow?"

[ Eclipse’s tail swayed slowly behind him, his eyes narrowed on the vast ocean and beaches that stood beyond him. ]

Great. Because G.U.N. has been neglectful, Shadow has to fix their problems, which means finding a lost portal machine. The problem is, they have no leads, so Shadow has to start from scratch.

"... Of course."

With his moody form, he had crossed his arms, staring at the ocean. The wind would've blown into his dark quills.

After a bit, he realized he wasn't alone. It seemed like he felt some sort of energy, it was disturbingly close to Doom. He MUST be feeling nothing. It's just deja vu. He tried to dodge the feeling by walking closer to the shore, but it was definitely scratching to tell him something.

Shadow{"... Tsk."

{> [ Eclipse rapidly traversed through the pale sands and the clear waters of the archipelago. He used both his natural agility and reflexes along with his doom surf, allowing him to quickly surf along the ocean to quickly reach another island. ]

• • The closer Eclipse came, the more they could sense each other.

[ He faltered for a moment, suddenly stopping to look into a small puddle. The Darkling stared at his reflection and pondered . . . ]

• • Eclipse was created to destroy Shadow for what he did, but deep down the Darkling felt like it was wrong. He would never in a million years kill his own brethren, or would he? Perhaps it was necessary.

[ Eclipse eventually arrived onto the same island Shadow was on, the Darkling stood over cliff and narrowed his eyes until he spotted what seemed to be the jet black hedgehog. ]

• • They were very close now, Shadow could absolutely sense that Eclipse was behind him.

[ Eclipse opened his mouth but no words came out, he didn’t know how he should make his presence known without making Shadow think he was some kind’ve joke. He wanted to be seen as what he was, the new leader of the Black Arms. ]

• • This confrontation was something Eclipse thought about since the moment he exited his pod, and now it was so close . . .

[ Eclipse crossed his arms, puffing his chest out slightly as his tail swayed slowly behind him. The Darkling’s expression started as a sneer before changing into a smirk as he finally decided what facial expression he should use. Eclipse would wait for Shadow to notice him first . . . ]

Shadow{
His mind engraved in pain, he felt this energy that stresses him all the way through. No matter what, whether it be in the white space or back then, the feeling of his own blood surrounding him makes him internally numb.

"This..feeling, I can't bear to ignore it, there's no way, NO way he's back, I-"

Before he could've thought of anything else, the force he so had hated was standing right behind him, he could just FEEL him. He would've turned around and immediately thrown chaos spears aimed straight at Eclipse after seeing the dark arms design. He has to be imagining things.

{> [ Eclipse’s smirk only grew larger as he attempted to slowly pry into Shadow’s mind. For a moment he actually managed to sense something, His brother felt- pain? No, it was something far more troublesome, hate. ]

[ Before Eclipse could make an attempt to see anything further into Shadow’s mind, The Ultimate Lifeform would suddenly turn around and throw multiple chaos spears at the Darkling. ]

• 💭) "He’s already trying to kill me?!"

[ Eclipse thought before he managed leap to the side, barely avoiding the reckless attack. The Darkling would jump down from the cliff, landing square on his feet as he began to eye Shadow. ]

"Such a rude way to greet your family, I expected a far more respectful first meeting with my brother"

[ He jested, now slowly walking towards his brother. Eclipse’s tail stood high behind him, its crimson pointed tip seemed to gleam in the sunlight. ]

After Shadow turned back, he was aware of the danger, but who was this being? Why did he call him family? Shadow had no other family, but he knew this was initially Doom's doing.

"Brother!? Who are you!?What are your intentions!?"

he put his hand out, for some reason, his body's energy felt weaker the closer he went.

"Stop!"

Shadow had too many thoughts go around in his head, who was this? What's with the energy drain that suddenly popped up? Shadow thought he had eradicated the Black Arms. He can't deal with this, not again.

{> [ Eclipse continued to approach the jet black hedgehog, the Darkling’s gold-colored eyes locked onto Shadow’s own. Each step Eclipse took kicked up sand that the strong winds caught, blowing the lifted particles far behind him. ]

• • Eclipse stopped for a moment as Shadow questioned him.

[ The Darkling’s arms fell to his sides, his tail swaying slowly behind him before lowering to the beach ground. ]

"Who am I? We are similar in a way, both of us are living weapons built for one purpose."

[ Eclipse lifted a clawed digit to the bottom of his chin, he tilted his head up slightly as his gaze narrowed at Shadow. ]

"I am the pinnacle of The Black Arms, their biology perfected . . ."

[ His eyes widened slowly as he stepped closer, his clawed hand stretched slightly out towards Shadow. ]

"I am the darkness that will complete what our progenitor failed to do!"

• • And as Shadow yelled at Eclipse to stop, he did. The Darkling stopped walking towards him, waiting to see how his "brother" would react.

So context on their growth, they’d actually mature fully after black doom was defeated

With only one— I guess bad thing that happened was that Stars winded up being able to remember the various timelines where Blackdoom attempted to mutate her and failed due to evolution focused on the brain

As their body was incredibly fragile no matter what mutation seemed to be used

I kinda have a funny head cannon that the entire process for black doom was just
