DevHub 2.0 & LocalNet for Canton Builders

DevHub 2.0 + LocalNet for Builders

DevHub 2.0 is live for Canton builders, bringing developer resources and tooling into one place.

Builders can explore docs, MCP resources, partner SDKs and APIs, WalletConnect resources, DPM, LocalNet tools, and more across the Canton developer stack.

The updated developer experience also includes AI-powered workflows, helping builders move faster when exploring docs, asking questions, and working through the Canton development flow.

LocalNet for Canton Builders

Builders also have an easier way to work with Canton LocalNet through the Canton Builder Tool.

It helps developers run a full Canton LocalNet locally, including validators, a synchronizer, wallet UIs, Canton Coin, Scan UI, and the official Splice LocalNet stack.

If you are building, testing, or experimenting locally, these are strong resources to start with.

CF Daml Skill for Canton Builders

gCanton @Canton Builder

If you're building on Canton with AI / LLMs for Vibe Coding, Agentic Workflows, or just asking Claude to help with Daml. You've most probably hit the wall where Claude writes plausible-looking contracts that fail at runtime with multiple authorization errors or uses daml build instead of dpm or doesn't know Token Standard exists.

We built a fix:

šŸ› ļø CF Daml Skill for Claude Code:
A Claude skill built specifically for Canton Builders, Install it once and Claude automatically knows:

  • Daml authorization model: traces who needs to sign what and whether the parent transaction actually covers it

  • Canonical Canton patterns trained from working code: Propose-Accept, Delegation, Sharded Hot-Singleton, DvP settlement, Token Standard allocation flows, and more

  • Code review mode: paste a template, get a structured checklist back covering signatories, choices, authorization chain, test coverage

One command to install: npx @canton-network-devs/cf-daml-skill

Detects Claude Desktop automatically and installs directly. No manual file hunting.

Try it with:

→ "Review this Daml template for authorization errors"
→ "What pattern should I use for a regulated asset transfer?"
→ "Write a DvP workflow with a regulator observer"
→ "Why is my choice failing authorization?"

Open source on GitHub & PRs Welcome, if you've hit a pattern that's missing, add it.

:canton_logo: Canton MCP Plugin** is Now Upgraded and Way Easier to Install.

No more git cloning or editing JSON config files manually.

One command and you're done:

npx @canton-network-devs/canton-mcp-server install

Restart Claude Desktop and Canton MCP appear automatically. That's it.

What's new?

  • One-command installer, works on Mac, Windows, Linux
  • New Updated knowledge base now covers the New Unified docs.canton.network
  • Old deprecated LocalNet info gone and better deprecation warnings for Claude and ChatGPT (Including Mythos too, when available)

NOTE: Repo now lives at the official Canton Network Devs GitHub:
šŸ”— https://github.com/canton-network-devs/Build-on-Canton-MCP

Already using the MCP? No action Needed.
This doesn't change anything for existing users, your Claude Desktop config keeps working as-is. The new installer is just for new users to skip the manual setup. The repo move won't break anything either.

Next Release will make our MCP Plugin support for Claude.ai web too...

Canton Developer Hub Launch

Hey Everyone,
One thing we kept hearing from builders: "I didn't know that existed."

Canton's tooling ecosystem has grown fast: DPM, MCPs, PQS, Wallet SDK, LocalNet Tools, APIs, and a lot more. But with new tools being built every day, and shared across Github repos, Social media, & Discord discussions, discoverability was a real gap.

So we built something to fix that.

šŸ‘‰ Canton Developer Hub: https://dev-hub.canton.foundation/

A Single, Structured, and Open-Source Catalogue of every tool, SDK, API, and piece of infrastructure available for building on Canton. Curated by the Foundation, open to the whole ecosystem.

And if you've built something that isn't listed here yet but should be? Please submit it.
The Hub is open source and accepts community contributions. If you're a builder or partner with tooling others should know about, open a PR.

Our goal is to ensure that no developer on Canton spends time recreating tools that are already available.

Upgrade Validators to Splice 0.6.2 by June 8

Developer Action Required: Minimum Splice Version

Validators and Featured App operators must upgrade MainNet Validator nodes to at least Splice 0.6.2 by Monday, June 8.

This upgrade is required for the upcoming Logical Synchronizer Upgrades across DevNet, TestNet, and MainNet.

If a Featured App is hosted on a node running Splice 0.6.1 or below, Featured App processing will fail once the Daml models from Splice 0.6.2 go into effect on Tuesday, June 9.

Recommended Action

Please upgrade to Splice 0.6.2 or later as soon as possible.

The Super Validators strongly recommend upgrading weekly and staying aligned with the version currently operated by the SVs.

CIP-0116 Approved: Featured App Locking

CIP-0116 Approved: Featured App Locking

CIP-0116 has been approved, introducing CC locking requirements for Featured App designation on the Canton Network.

The goal is to make Featured App status more objective and market-based, while prioritizing applications that demonstrate committed capital and long-term alignment.

What this means for builders

Featured Apps must now meet clear onchain locking requirements to qualify for and maintain Featured App status.

This helps create a more transparent process for:
- Featured App eligibility
- Application prioritization
- Ongoing alignment with the network
- Governance around Featured App status

Builders and app teams can review the full proposal here:
