Hey , I have a special request for a Second Haven construction. I can't tell you why it matters, but I promise it does! This is a small to medium project open to anyone with time to build during the next 3-4 weeks.

Not far from our main spawn point is the first house ever built in Second Haven (by ). The house is at X: 275 Z: 0. I got permission for us to make changes to the house for this purpose.

This is the perfect site to create a big welcoming home and safe haven for players who may not have a home in the real world. The goal is to create a space in Second Haven that feels like home and is open to all. The house is mostly empty, so we can add interior decor, perhaps some rooms or additions, and build around it as well.

I can't say who this is for, but I can say I've been homeless myself, and it is really hard not just physically and logistically but emotionally as well. Something like this would have been a source of comfort.

If this sounds something you'd love to do, let me know and I'll add you to the WorldGuard region around the house so you can mine and build there anytime! And thank you!

We found a cool spot with nearby badlands, an acacia biome, and a huge cherry blossom grove with waterfalls, and we've set it aside for a cool Color By Numbers game (128 x 128) and an art district. 🎨

The Bobots represent what we call neurodiversity, the strengths and gifts and sometimes challenges associated with thinking and perceiving the world in a different way.

Here's what we got so far:

The Bobots are not robots, but they love the predictability, precision, and power of robots and machines in general, so they incorporate those aspects into themselves.

BOBOT stands for Bearers of Balance, Order, and Truth.

It's hard to describe what it's like to be a Bobot. If you resonate with the Bobots, how would you describe it?

After attending the Chronic Illness Symposium, it really sunk in how similar our experiences are. Not in terms of symptoms (although there's a lot in common there) but in terms of social and emotional realities.

Of the three peoples of Second Haven lore (the Goobers, Bobots, and Nakan), the Goobers embody our experiences with chronic illness. They are warm and kind but often struggle with fatigue, pain, and brain fog. It creates this tension between a desire for social connection and the need for rest.

So I have a question for you all. Do the Goobers have ways of coping with this experience? Or do they find that, quite often, there is no solution? Do they have customs or norms that make both rest and connection easier to attain?

As part of our world lore and the backstory for the Rosetta Quest, the Nakan are one of the three peoples (Goobers and Bobots being the other two).

The Nakan represent our experiences with who we are in our essence and how others view and treat us. They understand what it feels like to be judged, stigmatized, or pushed out of a group, out of community... not for anything they've done but for who they are.

Some Nakan are masters of self-awareness, discovering one's true identity, and finding courage to be oneself.

Second Haven has an attached world called Hero's Journey, a reference to works by Joseph Campbell and Christopher Vogler.

If you want to learn about the Hero's Journey, is our resident expert. His expertise in this work is helping us build quests, lore, and game elements that bring this mythology to life. Our Rosetta Quest, currently in development, aligns strongly with the Hero's Journey framework thanks to input from Devin.

Is anyone interested in building something together, something big perhaps (or whatever it is you'd want help with)? So for example, is helping me make the observation platform in the sky by doing the redstone work (an elevator from the ground up). We also have a woodland mansion cleared and ready for whatever fun and/or practical use we can think of (such as a meeting place for in-game peer groups). This world belongs to all of us, so if you have an idea for a project or direction, please feel free to make it a reality and recruit other players. Also, let me know what resources or support you need.

We're planning a build battle in Second Haven for sometime between February 14th (this Saturday) and the 22nd (the following Sunday). If you want to join us, let me know what days would work best for you.

You don't have to be a pro builder... just ready to have fun. Build time will be 20 minutes, which is a little more relaxed but will go by fast. We might do more than one round if there's interest. I'll be recording but no name tags will appear in the video.

What do you all think? We've got some clear main roads now and nice side roads in both worlds. Should we name some of them? There's pros and cons.

Got an idea? Want a special feature added? Whatever it is, if it's feasible, we'll make it happen!
