Zusammenfassung
The Pokémon Champions | VGC Battles & Tournaments community is deep-diving into a unique Trick Room team featuring Gardevoir and Golisopod. This discussion explores potential synergies, including the viability of Politoed, Archaludon, and Sneasler to cover defensive gaps and speed control. It is a must-read for players looking to refine their competitive VGC builds and understand how to handle current meta threats like Gholdengo and Corviknight.
So I'm trying to build this trick room team with Gardevoir and golisopod, but the last 2 mons I'm so iffy on. Peli and arch provide a good rain core for pod, but when I'm going the garde mode I just feel like I don't have a good 4th mon. Would appreciate help

honestly, politoed looks kind of funny hear
it learns psychic, so it can benefit from the terrain
it can perish trap on its own with whirlpool + perish song
it has icy wind for speed control
it has a better speed tier for not-so-tail tailwind
and best of all
better SpA
you lose flying coverage, but that isn't as needed with pod
lowkey
you could genuinely swap hurricane on peli
I could
That's a good point
And I'm usually not bringing pod into sun matchups
Should I be using throat Chop on sneasler instead of rock slide?
rock slide gives you sun answers, and pod already hits the psychic types sneasler hates
My main concern is the rise of gholdengo
ahhhh
hence drill run
Yeah
you could swap arch for basculegion tbf
I like having electro shot
Especially because it helps me deal with opposing basc and flying types, which pod can't hit super well
Plus I realized this team doesn't really like corviknight
So arch is one of my only answers into it
ahhhh
what's sneasler's role?
/genq
Deal with the dark and steel types garde doesn't like
fair enough
what about aura sphere arch??
you can use it outside of rain, if need be
also, garde already has aura sphere
you already have enough coverage to deal with the stuff garde doesn't like
and if there's seriously that many dark types, hyper voice exists and so does mega pod
That's mainly as a last ditch effort
Running into incin/fire type plus dark type is good
give arch aura sphere over dpulse tbh
gives garde a free move slot for whatever you desire, and also allows you to pick up surprise KOs
Then I can't hit basc reliably out rain
that's essentially making backup plans for situations you shouldn't even be in
if you see basc, you have garde with a suddenly flexible move slot
and probably peli in back too
I guess
Do you think TR would be good on garde
tr or calm mind is the current meta
I'm probably gonna do TR so that follow-me trick room is a good leas
only issue with that is the fact that if you're running tr, you're most likely running pod
but then peli arch in back!
i still think that basculegion could fit on this team, especially with how special it is (pod and sneas are your only phys attackers), but arch fills a niche here
okay so i have a stupid idea
rain dance sableye over pelipper
pros:
- almost guaranteed weather prio
- so many good supporting options
- incredibly good typing
- prankster
cons:
- worse bulk (50/75/65)
- no wide guard or tailwind
- no real offensive presence
do you fw sableye here?
