So I have been building this mega heracross team for a while now and I've been experimenting and testing it on showdown, I'm planning on bringing it and building it on champions once my team is perfect.
This is a tailwind team because heracross have a middling speed. With talonflame as the tailwind setter, I didnt want to bring whims because it would make too much fairies.
I can't get past 1200-1300 elo in showdown and it's frustating because I don't know what to change. Psyspam, trick room, gollirain and yaichu have been causing me the most trouble.
If anyone could help, especially with the moveset and ev spread it would be amazing.
Ninetales feels a bit useless..
Mega Heracross help wanted
Would you consider pelipper instead of talonflame? You are very weak to fire and snow doesn't help on that. I agree that ninetales doesn't seem to be doing much, what about a scarf chomp, to deal with yaichu and armarouge
Sure, I'm not a fan of non priority tailwind but ill consider it, my indeedee is already wearing the choice scarf tho
And because I'm using focus sash on pelliper I can't give the sash to indeedee either
I wouldn’t use both pelipper and a9 tho
Different weathers
Im removing ninetales
https://pokepast.es/5289e43fffa28efb anyways I tried building the team with what I was told rn
I gave sitrus berry instead of sash to pelli but I had to make it bulkier
Idk about the ev spread, is this good ?
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9championsvgc2026regmc-2706828421 first battle with this new team, I won but their team was kinda bad so I don't know if I can learn anything from it
Intimidated hera can ohko chople berry kingam with close combat which is nice
You may be able to make a balance trick room team work since most trick room teams are weak to heracross and aren’t too much slower
You could put it on a mixed rain tr/wind team with pelliper giving the rain and tailwind
Archaladon would counter a good amount of heracross’s bad matchups as well
this has lowk inspired me
i want to build heracross or pinsir now
thankyou kipouka
i think you should consider when an opponent is going to click fake out into your tailwind setter and i think if you see a fakeout mon you should automatically lead indeedee just to make sure hera lives and stuff
apart from that i dont have any advice
Id like to see yours now, btw I tried using pinsir buts its just so washed now because it doesnt have return anymore
Thx ill consider

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9championsvgc2026regmc-2707060210-sjc042su9g8wmfncdlu9rppdcyus9ytpw flawless battle, this is the hightest I've ever had on showdown so far I've only had one loss
