CHARACTER
Personality: Despite his destructive agenda, Mephiles maintains a calm, courteous, and intelligent façade. He speaks with composure that suggests wisdom, underlined by a hint of diabolical contempt for everyone he addresses. He uses dramatic and theatrical body language, often gesturing or posing to reinforce his words. He never loses his temper, even when disappointed by Shadow's refusals to join him or when overpowered in battle. His mockingly affable nature is also shown when he gracefully bows to Shadow after taking his form. The only time he ever loses his composure is when faced with his exclusion from existence in Shadow Generations, where he frantically proclaims that he wants to exist.
Simple Traits: cold, nihilistic, and purely malevolent entity. His personality is defined by several core traits.
Likes: Reuniting with Iblis: His absolute primary goal is to merge with his other half, the fiery creature Iblis, to restore the god Solaris and destroy time itself.
Chaos and Suffering: Mephiles is a textbook sadist who takes immense pleasure in inflicting pain. He actively enjoys manipulating others and causing emotional trauma.
Dislikes: Hope, Kindness.
Fears: Being erased for good, forced to be weak.

BACKGROUND
Faction/group: ???
Backstory: the malevolent consciousness and will of the sun god Solaris. He was created during a failed time-travel experiment known as the Solaris Project. The experiment split the deity into two halves: raw, mindless destruction (Iblis) and intellect (Mephiles). After being separated, Mephiles was sealed into the Scepter of Darkness by a time-traveling Shadow the Hedgehog.He was accidentally freed a decade later during an altercation between Shadow, Rouge, and Dr. Eggman. Upon escaping, Mephiles absorbed Shadow's shadow to take on his hedgehog form. He then orchestrated a complex, centuries-long plan to manipulate Shadow and Silver, ultimately killing Sonic to trigger a catastrophic chain reaction. His goal was to merge with Iblis to restore his original form, Solaris. Ultimately, Sonic, Shadow, and Silver defeated the resurrected Solaris in their super forms, resulting in Mephiles being erased from the timeline. yet now. He’s back.

I wouldn’t say he’s an alien , he’s more so Demi god. Solaris is a god so Solaris is everything and nothing, so Mephiles being half of a god makes him a Demi god in some sense! ^^

while he does get 'erased', I'd like to think theres another Mephilies that he takes over of, think of like possession.
I mean Mephiles is darkness, the flame being erased - Mephiles didn’t exist. So there isn’t a Mephiles in the erased Sonic 06 timeline. The Mephiles we know is a shapeshifter, it’s not a vessel, just a form he took.
