Why do you want this character?:

Ive always roleplayed as Bernadette’s mother, I Roleplay her a troubled mother who regrets deeply not being in her children’s lives. Dealing how to properly love and be with her children now is a struggle.

Personality:

Bernadette is a strong, compassionate, and passionate woman who believes life shouldn’t be wasted doing the same boring thing every day. She likes making memories, trying new things, and encouraging the people she loves to actually live instead of simply existing. She isn’t afraid to be herself, and because of that she doesn’t always have a filter. She’ll say exactly what’s on her mind, crack a joke at the worst possible time, or stir up harmless trouble just because she thinks it’s funny. She’s definitely gotten herself kicked out of more than one place because of it, much to Jules’ embarrassment.

Despite her playful side, Bernie is also very practical and levelheaded when things become serious. She’s a natural leader who is good at making decisions under pressure and keeping a level head in dangerous situations. She believes problems should be talked through instead of ignored, and she’s usually the one trying to keep everyone focused when emotions are running high. She’s brave and doesn’t hesitate to put herself in danger if it means protecting someone else, especially her family.

Family means everything to Bernadette. She’s incredibly nurturing and protective, sometimes a little too protective. She has a hard time accepting that her children have grown up and don’t need her the same way they used to, especially after missing so much of their lives. She carries a lot of guilt because of that and is always trying to make up for lost time. If anyone threatens or manipulates her children, all logic goes out the window. That’s one of the easiest ways to get under her skin.

Bernie has a pretty fiery personality. She struggles with anger issues and can be stubborn when she thinks she’s right. If she’s upset, she’ll usually go quiet and bottle everything up before she’s ready to talk about it. She believes communication is important, but she’s not always good at practicing what she preaches in the moment. She also has a hard time admitting when she’s wrong, and apologizing doesn’t come naturally to her.

She has a competitive streak and loves a good challenge, whether it’s a debate, a board game, or just proving someone wrong. She enjoys bantering with people she trusts and absolutely loves teasing Jules just to get a reaction out of him. She’ll ragebait him with the most ridiculous takes imaginable, then sit there grinning while he argues back.

Bernadette is also somewhat of an adrenaline junkie. She loves exploring, hiking, treasure hunting, and just about anything that gets her moving. She has a habit of going on long walks every morning and evening because routines help keep her grounded. She also enjoys cooking and often throws herself into making meals whenever she’s stressed. If she’s especially anxious, she’ll go for a run, keep herself busy with chores, or start fidgeting without realizing it. She taps her foot, drums her fingers, or stims with whatever is nearby until she’s able to calm herself down.

• She’s honestly a very cheesy woman and enjoys soft, cheesy love songs. She’s easy to win through honest, sweet love.
• sister Sonic might either be a cousin or child of Aleena or another sister of Bernadette.

• Her grandfather was dark green and she got her name from her mother, who was pink.

• She misses feeling Jules’ fur, seeing her reflection in his mechanic body bothers her sometimes… she misses the real him. His brownish-red eyes, his scars that really tell a story, and his soft expressions. His touch that wasn’t cold… but she can’t tell Jules that, can she?
• She can’t run as fast as she used to, being able to run as fast as Sonic- her legs aren’t that great anymore due to age and past injuries.
• She still misses being a fighter.

BACKGROUND

Backstory: Before the Great War, Bernadette was a student under Nate Morgan. During class discussions, she constantly debated with another student named Jules. The two were complete opposites in many ways. Jules was reckless, stubborn, and loved taking risks, while Bernie was more practical and thought things through. Even so, Jules’ bravery and genuine care for other people slowly won her over, and the two eventually fell in love.

When the great war began, Bernadette enlisted in the acorn kingdom army. She quickly proved herself to be a capable soldier and leader. During one mission, Mobotropolis came under attack by the overlanders. Alongside Cocoa, Bernie led civilians through hidden underground tunnels, using her excellent eyesight to safely navigate the catacombs. The tunnels eventually brought them behind enemy lines, allowing the Mobian forces to launch a surprise attack that forced the Overlanders to retreat.

Not long after the war, Bernadette and Jules got married. Eventually, they were sent on a rescue mission to save the famous historian Kirby. During the mission, Jules was mortally wounded while protecting others. Charles, also known as Uncle Chuck, desperately tried to save him using his newly created Roboticizer. Unknown to everyone involved, Warlord Julian secretly sabotaged the machine so anyone roboticized would lose their free will. Jules survived, but became little more than a machine under Julian’s control. Uncle Chuck blamed himself and left in shame, leaving Bernadette to raise their newborn son, Sonic, almost entirely on her own while Jules remained trapped inside his own body.

Eventually, Bernadette discovered Julian had been using Jules for experiments. Furious, she confronted him. Instead of answering her, Julian forced Jules to capture her before throwing her into the Roboticizer as well. Like her husband, Bernadette lost her free will and became another Robian under his command. To make matters worse, Julian lied to Uncle Chuck and claimed Bernie had accidentally roboticized herself, adding even more guilt to what Uncle Chuck already carried.

For years, Bernie and Jules worked as mindless Robians in Robotropolis under the newly renamed Dr. Robotnik. Uncle Chuck made the difficult decision to keep Sonic from knowing the truth about his parents, believing Robotnik would use them against him if he ever found out. After Robotnik’s defeat, Sonic finally met his parents, but struggled to believe they were really his family after growing up without them.

Later, Sonic gave both of his parents special wedding bands made from Power Rings. These rings allowed Bernie and Jules to keep their free will, even while still trapped in their robotic bodies. They eventually settled in Knothole, where Bernie tried to make up for the years she had missed. She insisted Sonic eat proper meals, attend school, and let her fuss over him whenever she could. It was difficult for her to accept that he had already grown into an independent young man without her.

Eventually, the bem succeeded in restoring Bernadette to her original organic form, though Jules remained a Robian. That never changed how she saw him. To Bernie, he was still the same man she had fallen in love with years ago.

Life never truly settled down after that. Bernie mourned when Sonic was believed to have sacrificed himself stopping the Xorda, and was overjoyed when he returned alive. She and Jules attended the wedding of Antoine and Bunnie, survived multiple attacks on Knothole and New Mobotropolis, were captured by Eggman’s forces more than once, imprisoned during the Iron Queen’s takeover, and rescued time and time again by Sonic and the Freedom Fighters.

Even after everything she had endured, Bernadette remained the emotional backbone of her family. She comforted friends after tragedies, supported Sonic and his allies however she could, and never stopped trying to build the family life she had lost. When the sorcerer Naugus offered to restore Jules’ organic body through a suspicious magical contract, Bernadette immediately questioned his motives. She refused to let desperation cloud her judgment and stood beside Jules when they rejected the offer, unwilling to risk losing each other all over again.

Despite everything that has happened throughout her life, Bernadette has never let tragedy define who she is. She continues to live with hope, loves her family with everything she has, and refuses to let anyone take that away from her.
