I think it would be a great idea to introduce a permanent weekly challenge.
My main suggestion is to create separate community groups for each country, where members can chat, help each other, and feel more connected. You could also appoint a community manager from each country—someone who understands the project well and can answer questions. Some users may not speak English confidently, and if they can't get answers, they may lose interest and leave the project.
Once these local communities are established, we can organize weekly challenges within each one. This would improve member retention, increase engagement, and attract even more active users.
