I'm Lebanese Shia, born in Beirut, but I have a South American passport and my UAE residence is on it. Been living here 5 years, valid work visa with a multinational, clean record, no political affiliations whatsoever.
For context I'm a guy in my early 20s. In these 5 years I've gone back and forth to Lebanon at least 10 times and never had a single issue. Never got stopped or questioned, all my entries and exits were smooth.
I'm in the UAE right now and planning to go visit my parents in Lebanon next week, but with everything happening in the region I'm honestly nervous about coming back in after. It's not the Lebanese part that worries me, it's more the Shia part and whether that gets you flagged these days even with a clean record. I'm not even practicing, it's just the name and background at this point. Maybe the foreign passport helps, maybe it doesn't matter at all if they're going by names, I really don't know.
Thing is my whole life is here. Job, bank account, apartment, car. Getting denied entry after a short trip would be a disaster for me.
Has anyone traveled recently and made it back in fine? Or heard of anyone having issues at the airport? Any info helps.

Israel can invade and stay in southern Lebanon. But, similar to their last stay, they can't remain. Even more so now with the presence of FPV drones. Netanyahu knows this, but he's doing what his support base wants up until the elections, if hezbollah is never disarmed, they'll have to leave. However, if hezbollah is to be disarmed, there will never be a reason for them to leave lebanon.

I have ADSL internet and the speed is around 10 Mbps. I have been watching the matches on free live streaming websites like www.ntv.cx and I set the quality to 540p. Sometimes it works ok and it chops for a bit and then it comes back but often it misbehaves and I have to keep on refreshing the page and trying different sources until it works in the end.
I am considering watching the semi final matches and the final match on TOD on my laptop. Will it work ok on my ADSL internet? Can i choose the video quality? I want to be able to keep on lowering the quality until it plays smoothly.

Hey guys. I currently work as an English teacher for SABIS in Riyadh. The principal asked me if I could recommend a male English teacher for a school in Morocco. If you guys (or someone you know) might be interested in the opportunity and you would like to travel, DM me.
Thank you and good luck!

I haven’t seen any postings of him or on Reddit. But I just wanted to talk about him because I find it very motivating to come from the same country as him.
He was born in Nabatieh, Lebanon, and later became an electrical engineer at General Electric in the United States. he has earned over 40 U.S. patents and made important contributions to electrical engineering.
To get technical, in the early 1900s electrical rectifiers were really unstable and weak to use in an industrial setting. His work helped move AC/DC conversion beyond small experimental systems and toward the high power industrial applications that modern factories and electrical infrastructure depend on. He was one of the engineers whose work helped lay the foundation of modern systems today.
He had dreams of turning the desert to electrical power hub. He was pioneering and researching solar energy before it was even worth looking at. Barely anyone knew about it in the early 1900s. He also had several patents in early television technology.
Unfortunately he passed away pretty young at 40 due to a car accident. Some have conspiracy theories on it.
But his work is very inspiring, especially when there is people like you that did big things. It’s motivating. So I thought I’d share a little history.

Hello, is anyone interested in adopting this cat? We don't know where it came from but it seems tame and less than 1 year old. We asked around but no one knows the owner.

This is a reply to the post about a guy complaining how dating girls in Lebanon is hard.
I am here to offer a different perspective,
I am a young college girl(starting in september) who moved from Lebanon to Canada in my teens. Lowkey I haven't tried the dating scene in Lebanon or even tried dating Lebanese here because ya'll are so rare where I live.
But lowkey if you are a girl and don't want guys to use you, ignore you or just straight up tell you they will kill themselves if you leave just don't date outside your culture and don't date westerners unless you actually find a good guy which yes there are good guys out there but, most of them don't understand boundaries like no sex before marriage and no living together before marriage(if you have those boundaries at-least, I'd assume if you're a Lebanese girl you do but I don't want to Generalize) , they usually wanna "try you out" before marrying you.(Talking about western guys here)
Dating westerners is not better than dating Lebanese guys. I know Cause i've dated 3 guys outside of Lebanon and non of them respected my boundaries and wanted more, the last guy just started ignoring me after I set my boundaries (it seemed like he lost interest but didn't wanna break up). HOWEVER, I haven't tried dating Lebanese guys so take my advice with a grain of salt. Lowkey also heard bad stuff bout you guys from the girlies so idk tbh
TLDR; Dating scene is fucked everywhere not just Lebanon

First off, I was in awe the entire time at the site. Incredible and we were the only family which is crazy.
For 30 mins after Zahle to Baalbek it's constant barrage of black and red Flags, khomenei and mojtaba ..
When you get to sa7et Baalbek day3a .. gigantic Nasrallah , and some other guys posters at the roundabout and complete overwhelming flags and shit. They must have spent a fortune on 1000s of flags.
It is to a level of worship at this point ..
The area surrounding the 2al3a was dirty and empty shops and cafes.
In another world, the baladiye would realize we could have a Boom here and make 2al3a views , clean up streets, make it more welcoming and it would put so many cities b jaybeta ... So much potential and Zero vision.

The highway to the south is riddled with Hezbollah's flags and slogans, with the occasional "bara2et zemme" Lebanese flags. (2 hezbo flags for every 1 Lebanese flag)

I can't believe they let Iran play the Hormuz card to this extent. What the hell is going on.
Day by day it's looking like hezb is going to have more and more power in this country ESPECIALLY with Berri fucking championing Iran now. When are they going to sanction this mother fucker.
But really, is Iran going to come out of this with a complete strangle hold on us? In these 60 days are they going to demand hezb publicly disarm before sealing a deal or no?

All of the world leaders are freemasons and including Lebanon's leaders and Hassan Nasrallah. They do not care about us nor Lebanon, they get us fighting each other and distracted while they do implement their plans of the Greater Israel plan and Agenda 2030 worldwide (New World Order). Please do not believe most of the things these world leaders say.

Hello Everyone,
I hope you are well.
I just watched a video on Brazil, (starting at 10:43) and I saw that they had a Large Lebanese Communituy, the guy mentioned that the Lebanese Brazillians tend to not speak Arabic or if they do they Arab, it is sometimes broken. He compared it to Lebanese People in West Africa and suggested that Lebanese people in West Africa, more than likely speak fluent Arabic. How True is this? If it is, why is this? what is it about Brazil that leads to Arabs losing their Arabic?

“It’s hard to believe this is being treated as just another news story.
The occupying army left behind cluster bombs disguised as toys to kill children in southern Lebanon. They look like balls that attract children’s attention and explode when touched.
The photo was taken recently in the town of Dweir, in the Wadi neighborhood.
Please share this warning, be cautious, and alert families and children in particular.”

The Hezbollah chief extended his gratitude to Iranian officials involved in the negotiations, including Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
He also thanked Iranian Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei, President Masoud Pezeshkian, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Iranian armed forces and the Iranian people.
“We saw them in the squares of Iranian cities and heard their demands to sacrifice their lives to save the resistance and its people,” he wrote.
