What does the clown emoji mean?

The ultimate way to call out a bad take or a foolish moment in chat.

This emoji features Pepe the Frog dressed as a clown, a staple of internet culture used to mock someone who has said something ridiculous or embarrassing. It is the go-to reaction for when a user makes a fool of themselves or presents an argument that is clearly illogical. Widely used across Discord and Twitch, it serves as a humorous, albeit biting, way to dismiss nonsense.

When to use it

  • Calling out someone for a bad take
  • Mocking a friend for a foolish mistake
  • Responding to an obviously incorrect statement
  • Highlighting someone acting like a total clown
