What does the e_thonk emoji mean?

A classic thinking face emoji that slowly melts into a puddle of existential dread.

This emoji is a satirical take on the iconic 'thinking' face, depicting a character that begins with deep contemplation and quickly devolves into a puddle of confusion or defeat. It is a staple in Discord servers for moments when a conversation becomes so absurd or overwhelming that the only logical reaction is to melt away. It perfectly captures the feeling of 'I don't even know how to respond to this anymore.'

When to use it

  • Expressing total confusion during a bizarre conversation
  • Reacting to an incredibly nonsensical or cursed message
  • Showing complete mental exhaustion after reading chat
  • Signaling that you are giving up on logic
