What does the EW emoji mean?

A visceral reaction of pure, unadulterated disgust.

This emoji features an anime-style character with a dramatic, contorted expression of revulsion, often used to signal extreme distaste or a 'cringe' reaction. It is a staple in anime-focused Discord servers for responding to questionable takes, bad jokes, or gross-out content. The exaggerated facial features make it a perfect visual shorthand for when words just aren't enough to convey your discomfort.

  • Reacting to something cringe in the chat
  • Showing physical revulsion to a gross image
