What does the first_time emoji mean?

The ultimate sarcastic retort for when someone is clearly out of their depth.

This emoji references the iconic line from the 2018 Western film 'The Ballad of Buster Scruggs,' where a character asks 'First time?' before being hanged. It has since become a staple meme for mocking people who are experiencing a common struggle for the first time. Use it in Discord to playfully condescend to friends who are surprised by something you've dealt with a thousand times.

When to use it

  • Mocking friends experiencing a common minor inconvenience
  • Responding to someone complaining about server drama
  • Teasing a newbie struggling with basic tasks
  • Highlighting your experience in a difficult situation
