What does the half_star emoji mean?

When you only have half the energy to give.

The half-star emoji is a minimalist take on the classic star icon, perfect for moments when things are only halfway done or partially achieved. It is frequently used in Discord servers to represent a 'C-' effort, a half-baked idea, or to sarcastically rate something as mediocre. Its stark, high-contrast design makes it easily readable even at small sizes.

When to use it

  • Rating a mediocre experience with half stars
  • Expressing that a task is only partially finished
