What does the idk emoji mean?

The ultimate deadpan reaction to whatever questionable thing was just said.

This emoji features a chibi-style anime character with a blank, unimpressed expression, paired with the classic internet caption 'My reaction to that information.' It is a staple in Discord servers for shutting down bad takes, weird comments, or simply acknowledging a piece of information with zero enthusiasm. The meme format is widely used to signal that the user is completely unfazed or unimpressed by the previous message.

When to use it

  • Responding to someone sharing a bad take
  • Acknowledging a weird or awkward chat message
  • Showing complete lack of interest in news
  • Shutting down a conversation with deadpan humor
