What does the lmfao emoji mean?

A chaotic, deep-fried explosion of hysterical laughter.

This emoji is a quintessential example of 'deep-fried' meme culture, taking the classic crying-laughing face and distorting it into a surreal, chaotic mess. It is used in Discord servers to express extreme, unhinged amusement or to mock something so absurd that standard emojis fail to capture the intensity of the reaction.

When to use it

  • Reacting to an incredibly unhinged meme post
  • Expressing uncontrollable laughter at a chaotic joke
  • Mocking something absurd with extreme irony
  • Showing intense amusement in a group chat
