What does the emoji_40 emoji mean?

The universal symbol for when your brain has officially stopped processing.

This emoji features a black cat with a digital loading spinner superimposed over its forehead, perfectly capturing the feeling of being mentally checked out or waiting for a slow connection. It is a staple in Discord servers for expressing confusion, lag, or the moment you realize you have absolutely no idea what is going on in a conversation. The deadpan expression of the cat combined with the loading icon makes it a relatable reaction to technical issues or awkward silence.

When to use it

  • Signaling that your brain is currently loading
  • Expressing confusion during a chaotic chat discussion
  • Reacting to slow internet or server lag
  • Showing you are completely lost in conversation
