What does the nerd emoji mean?

The ultimate way to drop a condescending fact-check in chat.

This meme features a cat wearing glasses paired with an index finger emoji, commonly used to represent the 'um actually' or 'nerd' archetype. It is a staple in Discord servers for sarcastically correcting others or pointing out pedantic details in a conversation. The low-quality, deep-fried aesthetic adds to the ironic, dismissive tone of the reaction.

When to use it

  • Correcting someone with a smug fact check
  • Pointing out a minor technical error sarcastically
  • Acting like a pedantic nerd during debates
  • Dismissing someone with an ironic nerd response
