What does the derp emoji mean?

A wide-eyed, blank-staring panda that perfectly captures the feeling of being completely lost or bewildered.

This emoji features a stylized, minimalist panda with oversized, unblinking eyes and a flat expression. It is a staple in Discord servers for moments of awkward silence, confusion, or when someone says something so bizarre that words fail you. Its deadpan aesthetic makes it a versatile reaction for any situation requiring a 'thousand-yard stare'.

When to use it

  • Reacting to a completely nonsensical chat message
  • Expressing confusion during a strange conversation
  • Highlighting an awkward moment in the server
  • Showing disbelief at a ridiculous statement
