What does the pics emoji mean?

The ultimate call-out for when someone makes a wild claim without proof.

This classic internet catchphrase originated in the early 2000s on forums like 4chan and Something Awful to demand photographic evidence for unbelievable stories. In modern Discord and Slack usage, it serves as a humorous, skeptical response to friends who brag about achievements or events without providing a screenshot or photo.

When to use it

  • Demanding proof for a wild story told
  • Calling out a friend for lying online
  • Requesting a screenshot of a game win
  • Skeptically responding to an unbelievable claim made
