What does the sad emoji mean?

When you're pretending to be sad but actually feeling pretty good.

This emoji features a classic edit of the 'Drake Hotline Bling' meme, where the rapper is shown with his eyes closed and a dismissive hand gesture. By pairing this iconic image with the word 'SAD' in bold text, it creates a sarcastic, ironic reaction for when you want to feign disappointment or mock a situation that isn't actually that bad.

When to use it

  • Mocking someone for being overly dramatic today
  • Feigning sadness about a minor inconvenience happening
  • Reacting to bad news with heavy sarcasm
  • Expressing fake sympathy for a funny situation
