What does the son emoji mean?

Saint Nicholas is absolutely losing it over the state of the world.

This emoji features a traditional Byzantine-style icon of Saint Nicholas overlaid with the text 'Folk' and three crying emojis. It is a classic example of 'shitposting' or 'deep-fried' meme culture, where sacred or historical imagery is juxtaposed with modern internet slang to create a sense of ironic despair or overwhelming relatability in chat.

When to use it

  • Expressing deep irony about current events
  • Reacting to something incredibly cursed or sad
  • Showing mock despair in a group chat
  • Highlighting a moment of collective internet suffering
