What does the status emoji mean?

The universal symbol for when your brain is buffering.

This is the classic loading spinner icon, often used in digital interfaces to indicate that content is being retrieved or a process is underway. In Discord and Slack, it is frequently used ironically to suggest that someone is 'thinking' slowly, experiencing lag, or simply being unresponsive in a conversation.

When to use it

  • Indicating that you are currently loading information
  • Mocking someone for being slow to respond
  • Expressing that your brain is currently buffering
  • Signaling a temporary pause in the conversation

How to add this emoji

Add to Discord
  1. Click Download PNG above to save the status image.
  2. Open Discord and go to Server Settings โ†’ Emoji.
  3. Click Upload Emoji and choose the downloaded file.
  4. Give it a name and save. You need the Manage Emojis and Stickers permission.
Add to Slack
  1. Download the status image.
