What does the yee emoji mean?

The ultimate expression of smug, low-effort dinosaur energy.

The 'Yee' emoji originates from a poorly translated Italian dub of the 1988 animated film 'The Land Before Time'. The scene features a character named Oogway (often referred to as Yee) delivering a bizarre, off-putting smile that became a massive internet meme for its uncanny and hilarious nature. It is widely used on Discord to convey smugness, sarcasm, or a sense of being 'up to something' in a chaotic way.

When to use it

  • Expressing smug satisfaction after winning an argument
  • Reacting to something incredibly cursed or weird
  • Showing off a sarcastic sense of humor
  • Trolling friends with a low-quality dinosaur face
