I’m currently visiting Lebanon and I’m wondering where the most active spots or dense PokéStop clusters are nowadays, specifically around Beirut.
Are there any popular parks, walkable areas or active local groups/Discord servers where people still meet up for Community Days or raids?
Appreciate any recommendations

I'm starting this series as a tribute to Lebanon, where I'll be highlighting a different village in each post along with its history, unique facts and local stories whenever available.
If you have any photos or memories of the featured village, feel free to share them in the comments. You're also welcome to suggest which village we should explore
next.
Today's village is Ras Baalbak
Located in the Baalbek district of the Beqaa (130 km from Beirut), Ras Baalbek sits at an elevation of around 1,000 metres, on the northern edge of the Beqaa Valley and near the Anti Lebanon mountains. Surrounded by agricultural land and vineyards, the village is known for its long history and rich archaeological heritage, with Roman and Byzantine remains scattered throughout the area.
The name Ras Baalbek is linked to the village's earlier name "Cona Kora" which is associated with the meaning “city of canals" referring to the network of underground Roman water channels found beneath the settlement.
Ras Baalbek is home to the remains of ancient Roman temples, Byzantine churches and the monastery of Our Lady of Ras Baalbek. Among its notable sites is the former Roman temple later converted into the Church of Saint Barbara, while the village's underground water channels remain evidence of the sophisticated systems that once supplied its inhabitants.

It seems like the majority of them or their families at least are affiliated with political parties I’m thinking of example Zeinab kdouh being married to the son of an Amal party member, tatiana nassour having a father that is wanted and donates to Hezbollah. Are there any influencers others that are affiliated? Fun to see where they get their money from. I have read for example that hadba sabbaghs father being involved in the Syrian civil war and that’s how they got rich? There’s probably more examples and connections.

I started this series a couple months ago when I left the country as a tribute to our beautiful country, so many of you guys joined in through the comments and dms sharing stories, photos, memories and recommendations from all over the country.
I could tell immediately that many loved it and since now I (kinda) regained control of my time, we're back! So here we go,

Today's village is Baskinta
Located in the Matn district of Mount Lebanon (40km from Beirut), Baskinta sits at an elevation of around 1,250 metres, beneath the slopes of Mount Sannine and surrounded by forests, orchards and mountain landscapes. Known for its cool summers and snowy winters, the village is one of Lebanon's most scenic mountain settlements and has long attracted visitors seeking nature, hiking and traditional Lebanese village life.
The name Baskinta is believed to have Syriac origins, meaning "settlement", however, its exact meaning remains debated. The village is particularly known for its apple and cherry orchards, as well as its connection to the Lebanese writer and philosopher Mikhail Naimy, who was born in Baskinta in 1889. Naimy's strong connection to the surrounding landscape inspired much of his literary work, and the area forms part of the Baskinta Literary Trail, which passes through locations associated with him and other Lebanese writers.
Baskinta and the surrounding areas contain the ruins of monuments, cemeteries and pottery remains dating back to Phoenicia and Ancient Greece. The Greeks built several palaces there, of which enormous stones, pillars, and underground passages still exist. The temple in the place known as Qanat Bakish was originally dedicated to Bacc...

I remember most items were free shipping or barely 10$ now the cheapest shipping fee is 50$ even if an item cost 5$.
Did everyone stoppee using Aliexpress here or found a wsy around those shipping fees?
I was told that people shifted to use Shein but their items are far worse than aliexpress with a very limited selection.

I'm trying to use a payment gateway called Paddle and it needs any for of ID (hawiye, daftar swe2a, etc) and any proof of residency. Yet whenever I scan my documents for any similar service too that isn't just local, it always seem to be unable to be used.
Do I have to get official translations or is there anything else I'm missing out on?

Do you recommend buying the new iphone from abroad? If so, how do I do that? Or would it be cheaper if a friend or relative coming to Leb bought it for me? I think it would be even after I pay the tax for it. Any thoughts?

I heard there's a track where you finish 3 years of Chemistry in LU then do three more years at CNAM to graduate with master's at chemical engineering but it just sounds oddly fake (?) Like is that true? Is it worth less than most diplomas here or? Cause I feel like there should be a catch to this but can't figure out what it is lol, it seems like such a cool opportunity but haven't met anyone who's done this so I'm wondering. Thanks in advance!
