My belief is that if someone claims to know Jesus and continues to live life in sin, thinking itll be okay, they wont make it to heaven bc they do not truly love Jesus in their hearts

We are all sinners no matter how perfect you think you are, and in God’s eyes, because he is perfect, any sin is bad. You cannot be sinful and go to heaven; that’s why Jesus died for our sins. If someone truly loved Jesus they wouldnt continue willingly turn and live in sin, thinking they are saved
Let me rephrase then using your ideology..
From your perspective, imagine you committed murder for the wrong reason. Later, you genuinely acknowledge the gravity of what you have done, seek forgiveness, vow never to repeat it, and spend the rest of your life trying to make amends, even though no amount of good works can undo the harm you have caused or bring your victim back. But because mercy is impossible and condemnation is unavoidable, you will still perish.
Is this what you would consider just? Would you truly prefer a world in which forgiveness is impossible?
