Hard Trick Room Team — Help With Final Slot
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗚 “𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗠𝗬 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠” 𝗘𝗫𝗔𝗠𝗣𝗟𝗘
This post is intended as a strong example of a team feedback / “Rate My Team” post.
We don’t expect incredible amounts of detail here—just enough to work with. People need to know what you’re thinking to answer your questions. Including a PokéPaste, your thoughts and intentions, and what you want from your thread is key to receiving useful feedback.
PokéPaste:

Team:
Farigiraf / Incineroar / Hatterene / Drampa / Torkoal / Mawile
Goal:
Hi! I’m looking for help refining this hard Trick Room team for the current Pokémon Champions VGC format. My goal is to make it reliable enough for Champions Rank and BO3 tournaments.
Overall Strategy:
The team aims to establish Trick Room with Farigiraf or Hatterene before applying heavy pressure with its slower attackers. Farigiraf and Incineroar help create safer opportunities to set Trick Room, while Drampa, Torkoal and Mawile provide different offensive options depending on the matchup.
Farigiraf:
My main Trick Room support. Armor Tail protects the team from priority moves, while Imprison can prevent opposing teams from using Trick Room. Helping Hand increases the damage of whichever attacker is beside it.
Incineroar:
Built as a slow physical attacker rather than a fully defensive support Pokémon. Fake Out helps establish Trick Room, while White Herb can recover Attack lost to Intimidate or the defensive drops caused by Close Combat.
Hatterene:
My second Trick Room setter and main special attacker. Magic Bounce protects against disruptive status moves, while Life Orb strengthens Psychic, Dazzling Gleam and Mystical Fire.
Drampa:
My special Mega option and one of the team’s main Trick Room attackers. Hyper Voice provides spread damage, while Energy Ball, Ice Beam and Earth Power offer additional coverage.
Torkoal:
My strongest attacker under Trick Room. Drought and Charcoal make Eruption extremely powerful, but I’m unsure whether running Eruption, Heat Wave and Weather Ball together is necessary.
Mawile:
My alternative Mega and main physical win condition. Hyper Cutter helps protect its Attack before Mega Evolution, while Play Rough, Sucker Punch and Rock Slide provide offensive pressure.
Help Needed:
- Is bringing both Drampanite and Mawilite worthwhile?
- Should Torkoal replace one of its Fire-type moves?
- Does the team need more support or redirection?
- How can I improve matches where Trick Room cannot be established?
