✨ Phantom Recorder 2.0.0
A new interface, OnlyFans as a fifth platform, and Instagram posts working again.
The program has been rebuilt
The old interface was a rail of pages, one per platform, each with its own copy of the same downloader. It is gone. What is left is one bar with three destinations — Watch, Get, Kept — and the person as the thing everything hangs off.
- One card per person, with the handle they use on each service. An empty row is simply a service they are not on.
- Get fetches for whichever person is picked, from any of the five services, into the same wall of tiles.
- Settings and Discord sit on the bar instead of hiding behind the three dots.
- Minimise goes to the tray, and Quit in the tray actually quits.
New: OnlyFans
Posts of profiles you are subscribed to, beside the other four. Paywalled items are shown as tiles that say so and carry no address — this keeps what you already pay for, it is not a way past a paywall.
OnlyFans signs every API call with material that lives inside their running web app and rotates on their side, so no outside client can sign a request that still counts as signed in. So a real Chrome does the signing, and the answers it loads are read off the wire. Sign in via browser and Fetch posts share one browser profile, because the session is tied to the browser it was made in.
Instagram posts work again
The address the fetch had always used — /api/v1/feed/user/ — was retired by Instagram. Asked from a web session it answers with the web page instead of the posts, and that is indistinguishable from being rate-limited, so a fetch that was only knocking on the wrong door reported "Instagram is throttling this account". The post grid is now read from the page that draws it. Stories and highlights were never affected.
Faster
- Previews appear as they arrive. The wall used to take eight per half-second beat — sixty of them needed three and a half seconds even straight from the cache.
- Full-size previews are decoded and shrunk off the thread that keeps the window responsive. Measured on sixty full-size photos: 1.12 s of frozen window became 0.01 s.
- Eight previews load at once instead of four.
- After a browser fetch the result comes back immediately; the browser finishes closing in the background.
Fixed
- A service you had just filled in still said "no name". Get held the person it had loaded once, and adding a handle does not change their name — so the stale copy carried the old set.
- Fetches came back with other accounts' posts. The window landed on your own feed before going to the profile, and both were harvested.
- Highlights failed all at once with "the browser did not answer". Two albums are fetched in parallel, and both were speaking over one browser connection, each swallowing the other's reply.
- A fetch died seconds after a watch round. Each browser purpose has its own profile folder, and their names extend one another — so starting the story watch killed the browser a fetch was in the middle of using.
- OnlyFans asked you to sign in again after every fetch. Chrome was cut off before it had written its cookies, and OnlyFans reissues its session on every page load.
- "Fetch up to" forgot its value on every restart while the paging menu next to it remembered — so picking 60 and getting 24 looked like the setting being ignored. Both are remembered now, and the amount sits on the row that fetches.
