Hello again, what a day haha. Let's get some good news in here, shall we?

Today has been a hectic day, but I trust the server is now at a point where it can operate once again. We'll come back from this better, stronger, more of a community than before. In other news, we've elected to move the process for applying to become a moderator and ban appeals to Google Forms.

If you would like to apply, you can do so at this link - applications are OPEN right now! https://forms.gle/CWz4DBtDxFuD7Gs19

If you know someone who is currently banned and wishes to appeal, please send them this link so they can begin the application process https://forms.gle/rG7HEqUmxpwypm5V9

More good news hopefully is on the horizon. Hopefully, everyone is doing well on this Saturday night/Sunday morning!

Force Thirteen Mod Applications

Welcome to the Application process for Force Thirteen's Public server moderation team! We appreciate you taking your time out of your day to apply for us. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to a moderator.

Force Thirteen Ban Appeals

Welcome to the appeal process for a ban from Force Thirteen's Discord Server. Please answer all the questions provided with clear, accurate responses. If you have any questions regarding the appeal process, your ban, or anything else, feel free to contact any public server moderators, or contact one of our administrators.

Good morning

Our server was nuked this morning, but it hasn't been destroyed, and I'm pleased to see the community effort in keeping things as normal as possible whilst we work things out. Some key points

• What happens in our server does not impact any of Force Thirteen's operations
• The attack was from the inside, and so all staff positions have been temporarily suspended. The people involved have been removed.
• Most channels were deleted, and their histories are unlikely to be restored. Please always remember that you cannot rely on servers like these for archiving information or media
• We are waiting for guidance from Discord, but it is likely that later today we will begin to restructure the channels again. In the meantime please use the temporary rooms that have been kindly set up by fast acting members of our community
• If you see anything unusual, please report it to me or to Discord
• If you have any other recommendations for us, please send them through to me or #channel if you would like a broader discussion

Thanks for sticking by us and we're doing fine, as always things will be improved

To submit your application/questions, please send a DM with your answered questions to Samuel (Assistant Lead) at @Maribel H. (Evanston, Illinois), or me (Patrick) at @The Fitz Man in this format: “Hello, I would like to apply to become apart of the US Team. ” In addition, once your application questions are submitted, you will then be subject to a background check in verifying your information. Please be aware that your application to the US Team will also be based upon a background check of your public server status, in terms of any moderation actions/warnings taken out against you, in addition to your application questions.

If your application is accepted, you will then be contacted by either me or Samuel to send an invite to the Official F13 US Contributor (Interview) Hub. Once there, your final interview will be scheduled, and more information regarding that will be communicated to you after acceptance of your application

We hope that you guys find this opportunity to join our team an open opportunity to become apart of the behind the scenes work of F13, as well as eventually become apart of a crucial team, with it’s main purpose being to give life saving information in the form of content to those across the US to keep them safe from dangerous weather events on all different scales! If you have any further questions regarding the application process, the contributor drive itself, or just general questions, comments or concerns, you are more than welcome to contact the following people for more information: Patrick (Interim Acting Director): @The Fitz Man Samuel (Assistant Lead/Director): @Maribel H. (Evanston, Illinois) **Jonesy (Acting US Director): @Jonesy (Hamburg, NJ) **

We hope you guys have a wonderful rest of your day, and take care!

Good Morning All!

Hope you guys are doing well, wherever you guys are today. Given the fact, that Severe Weather Season is beginning to kick back up into high swing across the US, we do have an announcement to relay. As some of you may or may not know, the United States channel was unfortunately hijacked by an external entity which was completely out of our control, damaging our ability to convey life saving, accurate weather information to those out there across the United States, and practically across the entirety of North America. However, we here at F13 US are still working to get the United States Channel back, as well as to begin our rebuilding process. And in doing so, we are going to be looking for brand new contributors to join our team. And in such, I am announcing today, September 25th, that we will be opening up the 2nd US Team Contributor Drive of 2023! This contributor drive will give you an opportunity to potentially become a part of the United States Team, as well as will give you an opportunity to see what it is like behind the scenes in the studio and contributing department.

Now I do understand that we do not currently have a US YT channel as of the moment. However, we want to give the opportunity for those to become a part of a team that will have the ability to create essential content in the form of graphics, short videos, tweets, you name it, and work around what we currently have to deal with right now. We want to make this team open to you so that you can be able to (if accepted), become comfortable with operations and become your own key focal part and make sure you have the resources and training necessary to be a focal contributor to the US Team. However, in doing this, our US board of directors have laid out a set of guidelines in order to apply to become a part of the US Team. Those guidelines are as follows:

• You must be at least 15+ years of age in order to be accepted into the Interview Process
• In addition, you will be required to answer a set of application questions in the pre-interview phase, which are as follows:
What is your name/discord handle, and how old are you? (You are required to verify age in this question) Why do you want to become a part of the F13 United States/Carribean Team? What resources/applications do you have at your disposal that will make you ready and available to produce content for us if you desire to be a part of this team? What do you feel is 1 quality that you have that will make you stand out as a potentially future contributor for this team? If you are accepted into this team, will you be able to schedule/come to meetings with the Director/Assistant Lead to have you set up and ready to contribute/talk about expectations of operations? What do you feel you can bring to the US team if you are accepted? How can you benefit the US team further if you are accepted, and if you are indeed accepted, what do you feel would be your best area of interest? (Graphics, Video Production, Social Media Management, Studio Productions, General Analysis, etc).

Discord Communities are Getting a Safety Buff 🦺

Today, we're rolling out three new features that will help you keep your communities safe from DM spam and raids: Activity Alerts, Security Actions, and a revamped Members page.

Activity Alerts and Security Actions

Activity Alerts will notify you of abnormal server behavior, particularly massive raids or unusual DM activity. From there, your team can investigate further and take further action to protect your community as necessary. If it doesn’t seem like an issue, you can easily mark it as safe.

Security Actions allow swift server lockdowns by surfacing useful tools quicker, helping halt new member joins or aiding in closing off DMs between non-friend community members. Current Security Actions include:
- Pause Invites: Stop new members from using any invites to join the server. Experienced moderators may know this one already, and now it’s more easily accessible.
- Pause DMs: Temporarily stops new DMs from being sent between members in the server. This excludes friends DMing each other, when moderators DM server members, or DMs from Apps.

Members Page

Previously tucked away in Server Settings, the Members page is used to find specific members, display members with a specific role, and even help you prune inactive members.

Now, the Members page is in a more easily-accessible spot above your server’s channel list. And it’s been reimagined, letting you view your members in a more organized manner. It now displays relevant safety information about your members:
- Join Date: See when they joined your server.
- Invite Link: See which invite link they used to join your server.
- Account Age: See if they’ve been on Discord for a while or are a new user.
- Signals: Appears if someone may have been engaging in unusual DM Activity, or flags a member you’ve timed out. Use this to easily filter and find members who might require additional action or review. Over time, we plan on surfacing additional relevant Signals.

All of these new features work in tandem to provide mods with the helpful information and actions needed to help squash DM spam and thwart raids. We’re committed to improving safety on Discord by empowering and equipping mods with more tools to help protect your servers from harmful disruptions. It’s a never-ending journey, so stay tuned—the best is yet to come!

Hello,

We are very clearly at NHEM peak season with the goings-on in the tropics, thus meaning more storms, and therefore more activity here.

As we are still relatively shortstaffed, this is a reminder to you that mod apps are still open, and you can apply my DMing a moderator like myself today.

You can find the application format in the pinned messages of this channel.

Some of you may have apprehensions about applying, however if you are mature, active, and think you have what it takes, please do try out! You may be surprised at the result.

In the meantime, please do keep yourself safe and well.

PS- Shana Tova to all those celebrating Rosh Hashanah today :) ✡️❤️

Hello fans! An update

After discussions with our directors, we are suspending our 100K subscriber lottery due to potential legal issues. We wanted to produce an exciting event to give back to the community and positively impact one of our fans, and we still sincerely appreciate all the support that we have received over the years from all of our viewers.

We hope this finds you well and safe after the many tropical impacts that we have seen in the past few weeks, and our coverage will continue during my Eastern Tour. I am departing for London today and so I will not be producing any further updates (except possible live event appearances) until September 21st 👍

To celebrate reaching 100,000 subscribers in August, we are running lottery nights every First of the Month until a winner is drawn
We will not be doing a first of the month live event this month because of Code Red and I'm just very tired. We will conduct the September 1st lottery draw in a call in the public server at 20z.

You can still join the lottery by becoming an Ultimate Fan, with every dollar of monthly membership getting you a "ticket", and all tickets will be drawn on the call later. The number we're looking for is 1182, and that's the money amount that the winner will receive. All F13 contributors get one ticket per month by default.

If a winner is not found tonight, the draw will rollover and the October amount will be $1413!

Here is the Google form for Mod performance rankings. Every response will be anonymous. The rating goes from 1 to 5 with 1 being poor performance and 5 being the best performance. There is also a section where you can write feedback on each moderator's performance or moderation as a whole. Only 1 response per person so rank truthfully. Thanks : 3
